Mrsbooks | 399 comments I hadn't picked up on this until today while I was browsing through Outlander. Maybe this means absolutely nothing and is just a coincidence but in Outlander Claire comes across a book written by the Comte St. Germain in Geilie Duncan's possession. Actually it's the Grimoire she finds on her book shelf.

They're both time travelers. Do you think there could be any connection between Germain and Geilie or just a coincidence?

Carol | 193 comments In "The Space Between" we find out more about the Comte St. Germaine, time travel, etc. I just reread the bit in Outlander where Claire picks up the book - the Grimoire of the Comte St. Germaine - in Geillis room - and what struck me, is that she never makes the connection later on when she has some interaction with him in Dragonfly. At least, not to my recollection. I am rereading that book now, but my nook ran out of juice just at the 'juicy part' that concerns the Comte!

I don't know. I probably wouldn't have made the connection either. A title of a book would go right in one ear and straight out the other.

I do wonder if there is a connection between him and Geillie beyond her finding his Grimoire somewhere. Maybe there is time travel information in it? Or maybe at some point they meet?

the other courtney | 162 comments Yeah, and he mentions an association with La Dammed Blanche (which people thought was Claire but was really Geillis) in France. There is another connection, but I can't remember it right now.

Sheila | 34 comments The Melissande that the Comte mentions in The Space Between is Geillis.

That's the name she used when she was in Paris. This would be after Dougal helped her escape being burned as a witch
