Guy Vestal - Counter Culture Critic (DaddyRose) Lets start a themed BOTM read! The deal is that we make suggestions for a particular theme, then we start a poll with the themes that get the most discussion, choose the theme, then take discussion on books for that theme, vote on the books, and by November 1st, we should be able to start our new group read.

I will go first with a theme suggestion:

Steampunk

Guy Vestal - Counter Culture Critic (DaddyRose) If nobody suggests anything, can I just choose the Steampunk book by default..? HaHaHa...

Guy Vestal - Counter Culture Critic (DaddyRose) I am already doing a steampunk read-a-long with the mods, so we need at least one more theme suggestion, or I am going to assign "Witches" to it. :-)

Guy Vestal - Counter Culture Critic (DaddyRose) Ok, we need to move on, so this months theme will be witches, so I will make the first rec:

Salt & Storm by Kendall Kulper

We need to move quickly, and submit whatever rec's for witches, if not, I will assign this rec to it. :-) It really isn't a bad book, take a look.LOL we need to vote on it, so if we get no other nominations, we will just skip the vote, and try again next month. :-)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) O.O A theme I'm familiar with!

Recs:

The Witches of Willowmere by Alison Baird
So Mote it be by Isobel Bird
The Winter Witch by Paula Brackston
Goddess of the Night by Lynne Ewing
The Power of Two by Randi Reisfeld
Witch by Nancy Holder
Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
Hexed by Michelle Krys
Summer by Jeff Mariotte
Book of Shadows by Cate Tiernan
A Chalice of Wind by Cate Tiernan
Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz
Don't Die, Dragonfly by Linda Joy Singleton
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling (I'm already pretty sure that this one will lose the vote. D:)

Oh and if we can add in adult books:

Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison
Dime Store Magic by Kelley Armstrong
The Kitchen Witch by Annette Blair

I have a few more for adults that I'm simply too lazy to put up right now. lol.

Guy Vestal - Counter Culture Critic (DaddyRose) Silent Circle (Silent Circle #1) by Cassandra Larsen

Is another one I have in my Amazon cart to read.

BB... Have you already read all the books you listed? If so, weren't there books you wanted to read, as opposed to re-read?

message 10: by Guy Vestal (new)

Guy Vestal - Counter Culture Critic (DaddyRose) Ok, we didn't get much narrowed down, and as I said early on, I might just assign one, and try again next month, ergooooo....
