Oye, I get sup but I never use "Homies" :OWell, not with you guys atleast! maybe he's been reading more Clockwork Orange type books :P
I'll start it today and maybe I'll have to put it on pause for some time. Way too much going on! I promised myself today I won't start any new book until I finish DC and this. Anyhow by the end of May!
ATOTC :PSorry but I had to say it that way XD
And I'm reading David Copperfield too. Just finished Candide 2 days ago. Wbu?
Why no more like that? I can't wait to read more like that! Although I DO NOT wanna see the movie. But I'm afraid my curiosity will get the better of me one day :P
Candide is a real quick read! You can complete it in one day if you dedicate like 3-5 hours to it. Really simple too. I mean, sometimes it's funny how simply such profound things are put!Study in Scarlett has been on my TBR. It ain't? Oh man! I was expecting a lot. I might check those other movies too!
Btw, did you see GOT season 5 yet?
@Ishu It's fine, my state is the same as yours.@Sou I started Dubliners. Also reading four other books for review/challenge purposes.
Hope you like A Study in Scarlet, I've quite forgotten the story. It's been too long since I read Sherlock's stories :|
You guys still watch GoT? -_-
You started Dubliners? Man. I wanted to read that! -_-Yes and you should too. It's like- the best show there ever was! Of course, except for Friends.
Thanks to Fong I know the end of the series. I miss my husband :|
Sou- I think "Path of Glory" was on TV a few days ago! I've seen it so many times but never watched it. I always pass it on as some motivational kind of movie that'll make me wanna sulk that I've wasted so much of my life :P
I'll watch these sometime. That second wala is one movie ka Naam only?
I'd had enough of GoT by the end of season 1. I do know how the story goes, but since one of my favs Robb dies horribly(yeah I saw that particular scene), and the other one Daenerys practically does nothing...I think I'm better off not watching it :|Ishu I've only read the first few pages of Dubliners, I need to finish it before first week of May. You can read it later and we can have a discussion after that.
Daenerys is quite an interesting character! She's clever. Ugh, I could've friend when he died! But only because he was hot. He didn't have much of a role anyway. Didn't seem like the kind who could rule Seven Kingdoms. You must continue the series if only to see how Daenerys has grown!Well, it's James Joyce. I can't read him alone, I need someone to motivate me to keep going on. Maybe I'll find a buddy reader then. Okay, let's do it that way :)
I'll also read Odyssey this year maybe and Portrait of the Young Artist as a Man. Then Ulysses maybe next year.
Sou- I'll watch it after Clockwork.
Which reminds me, Ipshi, have you seen Gone Girl yet? And Stranger on a Train? I want to watch them both! Will you? (Offer's open for you too Sou)
I can't see the point of those dragons. They've done nothing noteworthy yet except for go around fighting for a peace of meat -_- I don't see much point of Tyrion either. But I enjoy his wit! What characters did you hate?
I know I'm not welcome here, but anyhow.. A good series is one which can actually make you really hate or love its characters! At least, in my opinion it is so!
Just wanted to say that. :-)
Yeah, he's amazing! I've heard that about the actor, never saw any of his films but he's definitely one of the finest actors on the show. Well, since I know one of the major spoilers, I guess they will. But as of now, it's just boring to watch them fly around her like that.Joffrey was another character I liked. I mean, I did hate him as a person but he was really mean and it was so fun to watch him! He was a good character no matter what, IMO. The kid did it well too. Daenerys is the dragon lady, isn't she- The Mother of Dragons.
I don't like John Snow either. He's got no guts. And he's not as tuff as he thinks he is.
Whatever makes you say that, Ishi? You're welcome anytime you want to come here :)Anyway...
Sometimes it's the characters that make you wanna watch the series. GoT just happens to be the one to fit both the category :)
Nothing specific Ishu. Thanks for saying that though. Matters. :-) Yeah, I've heard a ton about it. Bought its box set so will probably be reading it and then moving on to Tv series soon, I hope, at least :P
In another reading slump these days in fact. -.-
Aye, don't say that :)The entire box set?? Wow. I can't get myself to read fantasy. No matter how much I try. And trust me, I've tried. Must've cost a fortune :P
Sou, well the good characters are kinda boring to watch. Mean people are always sarcastic and witty. And there's nothing that beats quick-wit! I don't like docile characters much. Plus the mean ones are usually hot :P
Okay. :-) Nah. Was on sale. Just 999 :P
Got lucky :-D
And btw, fantasy doesn't suit you either :P I can't imagine now you reading it I'm so used to ''Ishita and classics'' now :-D
Just? :PI can't imagine myself spending so much on a fantasy box set!
Lol, it's not like that! I'm also "IShita and killing slashing murderers". Lol :P
I've also tried (and surprisingly liked) some of the YAs last year. I'm also gonna do some romantic reads this year if I have sufficient time.
Sou- no one said I didn't like good characters! Not all of them have to be mean. But I mean, I do like you. And you are mean. But you're also not hot so :P
Yeah yeah I know. I've been shopping way too much than I used to lately. Books and clothes and all. :PBut 7 books for that price WAS quite a bargain XD
Haha. That too, of course :P
I already read YA so I need not comment about that :P As for romance, your devious buddy can give you the best recs :P
That's good for you. I haven't been doing that enough :\The best deal I ever got was a paperback worth 1500 for 190 including delivery :P
Haha, yeah. I'm broadening my horizons! My devious partner is the reason I can count on it :P
Ohh. Why so? Busy with studies? :-( That's nice too, I guess. :P
Btw did I mention I'm going through my not-a-night-owl period again? XD
Though I wake up constantly after every 2 hours of sleep. Seems funny to me. XD XD
That and stuff. Been a busy year so far. I'm kinda in the middle of a reading slump.I can't stay up very late either these days. I don't even wake up :P
I suspect we should stop the chit-chat, mods will get mad at us :P
It was a compliment after all :PWhich books? I hate ebooks but seems like they're the only way left I can keep myself from going broke :P
Why do you have to read all the good books Abhi when I'm busy? -_-
Postpone it. It's an order.
..please? :L
That's the exact reason why I don't wanna buy kindle. I fear I'll start liking screens though it's highly unlikely!Around May 20.
My laptop crashed in the morning (nearly giving me a heart attack), but it got fixed somehow so I'm feeling really happy ^_^Also, Ishu if you want to read fantasy, then start with the easy stuff.
I want to read something similar to Howl's Moving Castle. Maybe I'll try reading a steampunk novel.
Count on me to fall asleep and not check this thread :PIpshi: Howl's Moving Castle was that nice? Should I move it to my immediate tbr? :o
It is very good, and Miyazaki's film too :)But some might also find it boring, though I did not find it boring at all. You'll love the MC!
Sou, a friend has it, so yeah I have. I know there's no strain but it's not because of that. I just don't like staring at screens continuously or carrying them around with me all the time. It's weird, I don't know if I explained it correctly :PYeah. Please? *batts eyelashes*
Ipshi, I'm not so keen on it and definitely not soon :P
Let's read a manga or a short story once I'm done with my exams, shall we? :)
Btw, how many new chapters of Last Game are released? I think I've only read 34-35 something!
@Ishu Chapter 42 was released a couple of weeks ago. And I'm forever reading one-shot manga so we can read a short one anytime :)@Sou Well, you know me....always living on the clouds. Why'd I want to read non-fiction when fiction is so much more interesting? :P
Sou, please wait, if you can. No pressure though :)I never said no to non fiction. You just don't ask me enough :P
Let's also do a non fiction after May. I wanted to read Cacher in the Rye but sadly I don't have enough time right now. You're reading interesting books these days!
Ipshi, I need to catch up with that. Maybe I'll read a few tonight. Let's do some mangas after May :D
Arey Sab May k baad na!! Stop talking about these tempting reads, exam Dena hai, pass Hona hai Abhi mujhe! -_-
Ha to jaake padho likho thoda, pass hojaoge ap bhi! :PMay 20 k baad kabhi bhi! You think of some good (awesome) non-fictions tab tak. And find some we can have some brain storming on, not very easy ones. I haven't had a good argument/discussion in a long while!
Who're you calling idiot? >:| Stupid Sou *pouts* :PIshu We'll read after June then, my exams start in June, it'll probably go on for the entire month :|
It's so cute watching you two try to PDA and then watching one of you fighting for some bhao from the other :PSou- over confident :P
Name a few? Which is your favorite?
Ipshi- okay then :)
Okay, I give in. You were right. Those are some shitting interesting titles and awesome authors up there! You really like Russell, don't you? Would you call him your favorite? Who else, if not him? :PDon't read much na! What's happened to you suddenly, Itna free time? -_-
Padhlo isse to kuch, bhala hoga! :P

Sou- that makes sense. Okay, let's do whichever of his books you think is the best. We'll start that May 21. Okay?
Sou- that's what I do too. I make so many promises but end up picking something else completely! Okay, let's decide tab he :)
Btw, Sou, are you guys alright in Delhi? Did you experience serious tremors in your part of the city too?
God, I still can't believe the center was Kathmandu and we experienced tremors till so far away. :-O
Yep, it all lasted for almost 2 mins. There's a pond behind our house and you could clearly see the effects of the tremors on the water.
