This author has a very nice style and is a book I can highly recommend. The story takes place in India and is an excellent portrayal of culture and cultural differences during the 1970s.

Just read Perkins Monsoon Summer. I truly do like her style and enjoy her book. This one had a glossary of terms.
I just read Bamboo People by Mitali Perkins. It was an excellent story and really had you feeling for the young men caught up on both sides of the struggle in Burma. I learned a lot from reading this book.
