Yay! Thanks Dale. :) Sunshine great to see you! Think it's been a minute since we've been on the same team for a challenge but looking forward to playing with you again.
Sunny & Dale I'm excited to get to know you both as we play. Now I know we're all in different parts of the world, but for awareness purposes what are our time zones.
I'm PDT, I'm in California. 7hrs to GMT.
Also I'm off tomorrow so I'll try to do some planning then. Also waiting to see what picks I get in Meet & Greet in the RRRC as those will be my focus for next month. :)

Hi all. It feels like we all know each other already.
I live in Johannesburg South Africa. So my time zone is GMT less 2 hours.
I have books already sourced for all the count down tasks so if you all want to fill in your selections on the team spreadsheet I will fill in the blanks where necessary.
Shelby if you can assist as well as we are the faster readers. We need to finish the count down first before we move onto the safe zones. The more points the better. 😉
So how's everybody doing? Are we all wrapped up in Wheel or just killing time till this starts? Let's get with the chatting and the plotting people. ;)
I like the plotting and chatting part. 😉 Didn't join the Wheel challenge but have various challenges going at the same time with other groups so I am busy with them.I am finding books that fit 3 challenges at the same time. It is exciting to see how books fit various tasks.
So been reading all the comments on the Q&A and all of us need to read at least one book each for the challenge.
We need to finish the countdown first (as fast as possible) and then move on to Safe 1 and 2 before we go onto 3.
During the week I read 2 books a day and on the weekends can read much more.
Because of my other challenges i will need to spread my reading between them all. But i am hoping to read at least one book a day for this challenge
Shelby you and I can take 3 - 4 of the books each in the Countdown and leave 1 - 2 each for Sunny and Sunshine. I have seen your selections on the spreadsheet just need to wait for Sunny and Sunshine to fill in what they can read then we can fill in the blanks.
We still have until the 12 August (when challenge begins) to get everything sorted.
Dale - as far as strategy goes I think we should definitely go for the Group 2 tasks since you and I have those covered between us. Sunny, Sunshine - any thoughts one what tasks you want to tackle for the main 10 books?
Would love to start getting a plan together so we can cackle evilly behind our hands.
Sunny has put down a book for task 5 already, Sunshine just let us know which task in the countdown you are able to do so that Shelby and I can fill in the blanks

Btw - I don't know if you guys are aware, but if we're online at the same time we can chat in real time with the Google spreadsheet Dale put together. There's a chat ability up at the top where it shows who is currently looking at the spreadsheet and whether they're idle or not.
Hi allI have updated the Team spreadsheet with all selections received. Please double check and change any that you don't like.
Just prepare your words for the 3rd safe zone we can only count these when the word is complete so perhaps we can work on words together.
Hi Dale: For the countdown stage..."Each team member must read for at least one of the tasks in the countdown, or you will lose points. An example is under the spoiler tag."

One week to go!!Shelby and Sunshine I see we have the same words chosen for the Safe zone 3. I think we can each do a book on that word so that we can finish faster

Hey guys! Now that Wheelathon is done, I can finally commit to this challenge 😅 Now that I've looked a bit more throughout the spreadsheet, I'll look through my TBR to see which books are ok for the word we're spelling out and add my three books.
Also, I've looked through the rules again and for group 3 tasks, it says that each word can only be spelled once.

We aren't convinced that is a hot desert (clouds, for a start, plus deserts aren't automatically hot, just dry. eg Antarctica is a desert, or Atacama desert: is warm rather than scorchio). The mods are open to interpretation with what is hot, but don't agree this fits the task. To avoid burned feet, please take your case to the other players in THIS thread. If you find support, then you can PM us to reverse the damage (note: damage for the red cover will not be reversed)

Aren't volcanic craters beautiful?
Unfortunately, you are in CRATER and have failed to complete the countdown tasks before our countdown.
This means you have been sprayed with some hot lava and lose 10 points for each book in the countdown stage not completed.
You can chose to finish your countdown books during this round for the 10 points per book, OR you can move straight on to the SafeZone groups... If you have a book in progress for Countdown, but didn't finish it before the Countdown hit zero then you can use that book for the SafeZone - no penalties will accrue in that instance only, but the timing constraints of the SafeZones will apply (i.e. if you use it for SafeZone 3, make sure you finish it only after you have completed SafeZone 1 and/or 2)
