This month I wanted to spice things up a bit so I created a treasure map for you all!

The rules are as follows:

1. Find a book for each item. The item can be found on the cover or in the title to count. For example, For bird: If there is any species of bird on the cover or in the title, it counts. Same goes for flower. Any type of flower counts.

2. You can double up. For example: If both a moon is on the cover and door is in the title, it counts.

3. Find books to cover all items to reach the end!

4. This challenge runs from 8/1-8/31. You can enter by posting your TBR below!

I hope you'll join us... Happy Reading!

Melissa (mageofmip) | 23 comments Unfortunately, after going through my entire TBR cart, I found that I am going to have to, um, reach a little bit for a few of the prompts. Because otherwise I don't have a book that fits them.

For the ones I'm playing entirely straight:
1. Bird: The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
2. Moon: Spin the Dawn (The Blood of Stars, #1) by Elizabeth Lim
3. Flower: Wilder Girls by Rory Power

For the ones I'm reaching with:
4. Key: Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman
(This edition has a keyHOLE. That counts right?)
5. Book: Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
(it's about a library!! counts)
6. Door: City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare
(There's... there's a cityscape. So. There's gotta be a door in there somewhere right?)

I did my best ok.

I literally don’t have any books with doors on my tbr so I came over here to find one, but I definitely have books on my tbr with city scapes and I 100% think it counts. The doors are just hard to see because they’re so small....

message 18: by BelleAnne (new)

BelleAnne | 55 comments Ok, my tbr for this challenge is very liable to change because I’m such a mood reader, but here is the tentative version:

The Killing Moon by NK Jemisin (Moon in title, door in city-scape on cover)
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Flowers and book on cover)
The Wicked Deep (Group book and bird on cover)
The City of Lost Fortunes by Bryan Camp (Key on Cover, it also has flowers and a moon)

message 22: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (grayreading) | 87 comments As per usual I'm not setting a TBR (because I won't read it anyway.. also barely any time this month), but I just wanted to stop by and say I'll definitely take part because this is such a fun challenge!
And also for those looking for doors: I just stumbled upon the newer covers for Daughter of Smoke and Bone, which has a big door on the cover! So if anyone (like me) hasn't read the books yet- the ebook also has the book on the cover ;)
Happy reading!
