I never rate things 1 star. I think that's a bit drastic, because there has to be at least ONE THING that you like about a book. But the last book that I DNF was Third Girl by Agatha Christie. It just wasn't what I was expecting, and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. There was hardly even a mystery.

Last 1 star read.
Oh my. It was a one star read to a book everyone else loves. Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote. It started out as a really good, quirky story. After about 50 pages, I was tired of it and wanted something more out of the story. Had to push myself to read on and I hated the part about the cat. Note: It was a two star read until the cat part.
I couldn't get through Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding. That was the most annoying book I have ever tried to read.
Hope and Other Punchlines by Julie Buxbaum. I could have been going through a reading slump because the book has good ratings. However, the book just didn't hold my attention.

I'd be surprised if I finish anything. I'm hoping I can at least read For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing and Isn't It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams.
Krystyna wrote: "409. How many books did you read and/or finish last month?"The Case of the Peculiar Pink Fan
The Social Graces
I started a couple, but I didn't finish any. Started: The Last Green Valley by Mark Sullivan and For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing.
Krystyna wrote: "409. How many books did you read and/or finish last month?"I finished 15 books last month. That is more than what I normally finish.
410. How do you prioritize what books to read/pick up next? Do you go by due date from the library, buddy reads, book club selections, etc.? Explain your process/routine.
Krystyna wrote: "410. How do you prioritize what books to read/pick up next? Do you go by due date from the library, buddy reads, book club selections, etc.? Explain your process/routine."I go by what I think is going to take me the longest, and whats more in demand. I'll more often than not prioritize a new fiction that I had on hold over a biography that's been sitting on the shelf I know will be okay to bring in and renew
Krystyna wrote: "410. How do you prioritize what books to read/pick up next? Do you go by due date from the library, buddy reads, book club selections, etc.? Explain your process/routine."Due date, meets a challenge, sometimes group monthly reads. Sadly it is easy to ignore books that I own, because I know they are always going to be there.
Krystyna wrote: "410. How do you prioritize what books to read/pick up next? Do you go by due date from the library, buddy reads, book club selections, etc.? Explain your process/routine."I haven't been checking out as many books from the library lately, but that would be my main priority. Buddy reads would probably be next in line, then anything after that is just a "I'll get to it when I get to it."
411. If you could erase a book from your brain and experience it for the first time again, which book would you choose?
Krystyna wrote: "411. If you could erase a book from your brain and experience it for the first time again, which book would you choose?"There's so many. the first one that came to mind was The Hunger Games trilogy, just because it was such an all consuming experience for me.
Krystyna wrote: "411. If you could erase a book from your brain and experience it for the first time again, which book would you choose?"The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish. Although, I could probably reread it and be fine because it's such an intricate story. Odds are I don't remember much of it anyway.
411. The entire Harry Potter series. I'm always so jealous of the people I know who are reading Harry Potter for the first time, because I wish I could be back in their position! I've read the books at least ten times each, so there's really no way for me to start over with a blank memory. (The Hunger Games is also a series that I would enjoy reading for the first time again.)
Cytonic (Skyward #3) by Brandon Sanderson. I love this series so much, and I'm excited to what new adventures Spensa goes on.

I still need to read that series. I also need to branch out a little bit and read some actual sci-fi...this series and maybe Becky Chambers to start out.

It's been out for a few years but I just finished the first book, The Traitor's Wife and i'm excited to see what happens to the characters from the first book in this one. I plan to start it once i finish The Silent Patient
Krystyna wrote: "413. What is the weirdest book you've read? Explain. Did you enjoy it or not?"The Catcher In The Rye. Idk, maybe I was too young, maybe I hadn't been paying enough attention to it, all I could make out of it was Holden Caulfield was a very depressed young man. In any case, I didn't like it lol
The Vegetarian by Han Kang. It was a three-star read for me because I couldn't decide if it was a good book or a bad one. I'm not even sure I understood the whole concept. I know it won't be for everyone.
Krystyna wrote: "413. What is the weirdest book you've read? Explain. Did you enjoy it or not?"House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. Both the story and the formatting were off-the-wall weird. It was different and strange. I am glad I read it, but not sure I would recommend it. The formatting worked perfectly and the spooky parts were really good. But the rest of it, a large part of it, was really slow.
Edit: Also, I read this in 2019 and am still thinking about it! Plus I plan to read more by this author. I am a little all over the place with this book. One thing for sure, it was definitely weird.

That book has been on my TBR for years. I'm intimidated by the format. I'm not quite sure how you're supposed to read it because it's so "unique."

The formatting is surprisingly easy to figure out as you go. But, it does not work on a Kindle. You must have a physical copy.
Krystyna wrote: "414. What's a book that took you an unusually long time to finish? Why?"I am experiencing that situation right now. The book is The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens. I am not very interested in the characters. Mostly, I am irritated with them. And I hate the bad guy so much, I don't want to read about him anymore. It is so easy to put this book aside and read something else. But, I am at 68%, so, I should be able to finish it up soon.
Krystyna wrote: "414. What's a book that took you an unusually long time to finish? Why?"The Traitor's Wife by Susan Higginbotham. It wasn't all that big but i'd get busy and put it down and not touch it for days at a time. I'm like that, I either read whenever I have five free minutes or I wont touch a book for weeks.
I'm actually still reading it and I started around March or April of last year. It's called A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. It's such a big book and the topic is supposed to be very sad and depressing. I'm hoping I can finish it by the end of this year.

415. Do you have any fun weekend reading plans, or plans in general? Are you trying to finish up any books before the end of the month?
..
I have three books to finish before the end of the month.
- The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix
- The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens
- Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
I also have yard work to do. But I never feel like starting first thing in the morning. And later it is too hot.
I work this weekend, and then I have some cleaning to do around my apartment. Other than that I'll probably watch YouTube and read here and there.
Krystyna wrote: "416. What was the last book that you read in one sitting or in less than 24 hours?"The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, pretty much finished it in one afternoon and evening.
Krystyna wrote: "415. Do you have any fun weekend reading plans, or plans in general? Are you trying to finish up any books before the end of the month?"I made some progress in my newest book, and got properly hooked on Call The Midwife, made it into season 2 this weekend.
(on The Silent Patient, for Krystyna) I liked it very well! It wasn't as mind blowing for me as The Maidens but I really enjoyed it. It's a very decent read, just didn't love it enough to add to my personal bookshelf. I think you'll enjoy it.
I read four books this month. I really enjoyed all the books I read. I didn't have any ratings under 4 stars. I think my least favorite was The Exiles by Christina Baker Kline. My favorite was a tie--Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates and News of the World by Paulette Jiles.
I read 14 books this month. (Still trying to get one more done.) Favorite was The Girl on Paper by Guillaume Musso. Least favorite was I Walked the Line: My Life with Johnny by Vivian Cash.
418. Happy September! I treat every month kind of like a new year. It's a fresh start. So, what's on your September TBR? How many books are you planning on reading?
I want to finish Isn't It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams and For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing.I'm going to give Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig a try.
Wicked Things by John Allison
When the Stars Go Dark by Paula McLain
I'll be surprised if I finish all or any of those.
This is what I have planned, but it is not etched in stone. September TBR
