UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish http://us.penguingroup.com/static/pag...

A Project Paranormal interview with the WARDen and Jessica Anderson.

The WARDen talks COVET! I can't wait!!!

message 2: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 66 comments very cool. I loved the interview with the Butcher's!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I adore the BDB and seriously am more excited about Covet coming out than I was about any other book...well, except Lover Avenged and Lover Mine.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Did you see this? I've posted it in a few places. Someone else provided me with the link initially.

If you watch this part, 1 of 8, at the end it will give you a link to the next part. This is the book signing Q&A and she talks about Covet, JM and Lover Mine, and several things.

She very openly answered questions by the audience.

Thanks Uniquely Moi - I'll be sure to check it out. Are there any spoilers in the questions/answeres?? I haven't read the last book yet

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Not too many spoilers because it was a book signing FOR the last book and she tried to be careful, knowing that not everyone had read it. More than anything, there is a lot of insight into the Brothers, as well as information for Covet, The Fallen Angels.

Danielle The Book Huntress (Back to the Books) (Gatadelafuente) That was really cool. Thanks for sharing!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish You're welcome! Did you get to watch all 8 videos? It was sooooooooooo cool!

message 13: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (Kathry) Anyone know where to buy Covet as an ebook? I haven't seen it pop up as one yet. I'll probably have to run to the bookstore because it's a paperback, not hardback, right?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I don't think you can at least until the official release date.

It is paperback, and WalMart had it for $5 and change.

message 15: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (Kathry) Thanks. :)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Kathee wrote: "Has anyone read the newest J.R. Ward with the John Mathew story??"

That one isn't out until April 27th

message 18: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (MelodieCO) Thought I would post on this thread and see if anyone can tell why all the goofy names in these books? Phury, Tohrment, Rhage? What is with all the "H"s? I just read DARK LOVER and the names really irked me.

message 19: by Megan (new)

Megan At first the names were confusing, but then they kinda grow on you, at least for me they did.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I love the names! They are specifically Warrior names and usually quite ancient. Remember, the BDB has their own ancient language, so I imagine it's in there somehow that the names originated as none of the humans have names spelled unusually.

Kat Falla (AuthorKatdeFalla) | 2 comments Oh - Thanks UniquelyMoi Dhestiny, I was thinking I somehow missed it! These books have good steamy scenes. Anyone else know a series this hot? Someone told me Laurel Hamilton's Anita Blake series (which has like 16 books) but not to hot in the first book!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Kathee wrote: "Oh - Thanks UniquelyMoi Dhestiny, I was thinking I somehow missed it! These books have good steamy scenes. Anyone else know a series this hot? Someone told me Laurel Hamilton's Anita Blake series ..."

You're welcome! And you can call me UM, most everyone else does :)

I personally do not like LKH's Anita Blake series. The other series I can recommend are Midnight Breeds by Lara Adrian and Darkyn by Lynn Veihl. Both are very good!

Here are the books:

Midnight Breeds - Lara Adrian
1. A Kiss of Midnight (2007)
2. Kiss of Crimson (2007)
3. Midnight Awakening (2007)
4. Midnight Rising (2008)
5. Veil of Midnight (2008)
6. Ashes of Midnight (2009)
7. Shades of Midnight (2009)
8. Taken by Midnight (2010)

Darkyn by Lynn Viehl (this series is finished and she has a new one, kind of a spin-off called Kyndred)
1. If Angels Burn (2005)
2. Private Demon (2005)
3. Dark Need (2006)
4. Night Lost (2007)
5. Evermore (2008)
6. Twilight Fall (2008)
7. Stay the Night (2009)

Kyndred

Kyndred
1. Shadowlight (2009)
2. Dreamveil (2010)

The first 8 or so books in the Anita Blake series have almost no sex. But after that, when the "ardeur" (I HATE that word!), comes into play you can really get your kink on with some of the stuff in them. I don't read them anymore because that's all it seems like the books are built on. If I want to read really "freaky kinky" I'll pick up a Penthouse Forum. At least with them I know not to expect any story! I did read the newest one after skipping several in the hopes that it would be more like the earlier books, but it wasn't. I like a good sex scene as well as the next person, but if that's all I'm getting it's boring.

Well, at least that's some kind of explanation! I've started the 2nd one, but don't know that this series is going to be my thing. They seem to be more PNR and I'm not a big romance fan....even with vampires!

As the series progresses, it becomes more UF. You can really see it in Lover Enshrined and then Lover Avenged and from what I hear, the next installment, Lover Mine is even going to be more UF than the rest.

Dark Lover, book 1, is my least favorite of the series as it struggles with "first book in a series syndrome" but I still enjoyed it. Most people in the BDB group agree.

I hope you enjoy Lover Eternal!

I will admit at frist i didn't like the character. Not sure why there was just something i didn't like about his whole story. But as it progessed through the books i will admit i have changed my mind. Which is not a very easy thing to do haha. But i am sooo excited for the book!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I can't say I didn't like him, but I didn't feel the connection to him that I did with let's say... **drool** Zsadist **more drooling and some blushing**

But like you, he has grown on me and I will fork over the big bucks for a hardcover copy.

Ya the connection at first just was not there. Haha obviously Zsadist is your favorite. I think if i had to choose i think i would pick Rhage. Although it's a hard decision considering all of them are almost equally good.

And like you i am the same way, does not matter the price just matter that i get my hands on the book.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Yes, Zsadist is my all time favorite hero of any book!

message 30: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 66 comments I've just finished Rehvenge's book and I find it amazing that she makes you somehow adore a guy who's a murderer, drug lord & pimp.

Rhage is totaly my favorite brother though

message 31: by Bri (new)

Bri Ya i will admit Rehvenge has some appeal to him. i haven't read his book yet but i cant wait. Rhage is the best !

I sure hope you like SKIN TRADE better than I did. I hadn't read an Anita book in awhile and this one actually sounded like it might be getting back to the early kick ass books. Not! Last time I get suckered into a book in this series again!

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

hmm, I felt that Skin Trade was one of the best Anita books in years. I've read them all, even the pornographic ones. I'll get/read Flirt next month and Bullet this summer. What can I say, I'm an Anita fan.

I absolutely loved this series for years, and recommended it to anyone I thoght it might appeal to. When the "ardeur" became the focal point of the series I got bored with them. I like sex in my books, but a whole book of nothing but gets boring REALLY fast!

I do love Anita!! I know the books have gotten quite steamy, but I think that is just LKH. If you think Anita is bad, then don't read her Merry Gentry series - she's a fertility deity.

I agree that too much sex can ruin a story and sometimes I won't finish a book because of it, but I think I'm just too darn attached to Anita and Co. to even care!!

After reading through some of these posts, I just went out and bought the a box set of the first six BDB books - so hopefully I like them!

message 37: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mlsimmons) There is not nearly as much sex in Skin Trade as some of the other later books. She got back into more police work. Anita is really getting a handle on the auder, so I think you will start to see less sex. Especially the "accidental sex" as quoted from JC.

message 38: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mlsimmons) I watched the You Tube videos with the Q&A with JR Ward. She is really funny. Thanks for the post.

Kenya Wright I just got into this series. i loved the blind king... I'm going to read the next book soon.

message 42: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Luhrs (CynthiaLuhrsAuthor) have you all read the latest BDB book? I'm probably going to stay up way to late finishing it. Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward

message 43: by BookJunkie (new)

BookJunkie | 2 comments loved it. It was crazy good. I love all her books though.

message 44: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Luhrs (CynthiaLuhrsAuthor) Me too. I can't wait for the new one. March I think?
