Hi everyone, this is my first time doing the challenge and I was wondering if someone would let me know how you post your completed tasks. Do you post them as you finish each book or wait and post a few at a time?

This is only my second one, but the Summer challenge was great and this one looks to be really fun too! Secondly, as far as posting goes, you can do it however you want. You can post everytime you finish a book, everytime you finish a task (as some have multiple books), or you can even wait and post when you're completely done. It's really just a personal preference :).

I usually post after each book/task I finish, but you can update every few books, or once a week, or however you want.
The big thing is that poor Cynthia has to wade through all of our posts and update everyone's score, so to make it easy on her, make sure you very clearly state which task you have completed and which book you used (with author), with any associated activities (watching a movie, creating art, a review, etc.). You can also post your total points up to that point, but I think Cynthia's spreadsheet calculates this anyway, so it's not required.
Oh, and we aren't supposed to start reading until September 1st... (Well, you're not supposed to read more than half of any of the books...) But once Sept 1 hits, Cynthia will unlock the "FALL CHALLENGE 2009 COMPLETED TASKS" thread, which is where we will report our completed tasks.

Donna Jo wrote: "What does your list look like? I'm not an expert, but we can maybe narrow it down."Sarah, this is my first challenge too. I started by going through by TBR list. I found it helped to print out the tasks and then I started looking for each one individually off of books I had in my house or on hold on the library and fitting them in. Then I made a writing document on GR so I would always have it. I also keep a copy in a word document so I can see what goes where. Good luck!! Just remember, a lot of us are new at this and there are lots of links to ask questions. I am finding my TBR list is getting bigger and bigger by all the great recommendations in this group.
I found it helpful to start a book review log and post my plan there. Some of the tasks are easier to fill that others. A,b,c challenge any 3 books in abc order should be easy and the person, place, thing isnt too hard.
Also take a look at what others put where that can help and many tasks have threads to help out
I have an observation to make: everyone is so nice to one another in this thread! I appreciate how helpful and understanding everyone is in this challenge! That's all! Thanks everyone!
What I did was create a spreadsheet, then walked around my bedroom to review the novels I haven't read. Then I compared them to the tasks to fill in. Next I added in my book club reads to ensure those had a spot. Nothing's worse than reading a book which cannot fit into the challenge. Well not worse but it's SAD! Afterwards, I reviewed my TBR list to see what I could slip in. Lastly, I looked at novels people had suggested in these many threads to locate one I liked.Course, I also used amazon.com to search book titles. That's how I came across Pretty Little Devils for Sam's Task.

Nights in Rodanthe would also work for the 'book into a movie' task as it was published less than 10 years ago.
