(solved) Does anyone here speak Māori (te reo)?

I've added a couple of children's books for a NZ award. Problem is, both of their blurbs are in English on the publishers' websites.

I have tried world cat, our National Library Service & my local library service (which has the Miriama Kamo title, but it is on loan - & the description on their website is in English, so I don't have much hope that the actual book will have a Māori blurb.)

This might help solve your dilemma.

Firstly Academic Books is a distributor. The publisher is Scholastic, NZ.

Both Stratford and Whanganui libraries have the summary for the Maori language version in te reo.

Just be aware that GR doesn't play nicely with the diacritics in te reo which is why I've not used summaries in reo when I've added book records before.

ETA: also if you are using Firefox or Safari as your browser, and Google as your search engine, you can change Google to Maori which tends to put the reo entries more prominently.

No don't have Firefox. Last time I had both Firefox & Chrome they clashed & I had a very expensive computer repair bill!

Hopefully someone with at least conversational Te Reo will apply to be a GR librarian sometime soon.

Sorry, I thought the book you were looking for was titled Ngā whetū Matariki i whānakotia = The Stolen Stars of Matariki which is what I searched.
Missed the other one totally. Looking at the GR record it seems very sparse on detail, but I searched my go-to database for NZ publications and got this

Book details are for both Reo and English but not much in the way of a summary. The one line summary they have would be close to Ko te korero mo te haka tuatahi, he kanikani na te tamaiti taitamariki a Tanerore i mahi. in Reo.

I'll leave you to decide and create a record for both English and Reo versions from the info on this database. I can vouch for its accuracy.

I notice the publication details are missing from Wheelers record.
The publisher is Mauri Tū (Raumati Beach, Aotearoa) - don't think GR includes place, but ...

Also you might want to add a note from the writer that's on the colophon -
English
"Note from the writer and artist: This story is our creative interpretation based on the korero preserved in the traditions from our tūpuna Māori"--Colophon.

Reo
"He mea waihanga nā māua tēnei, he mea auaha i takea mai i ngā korero tuku iho a ō māua tūpuna Māori"--Colophon.
