Reading The Seasons Sign



Object: The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible by the end of the quarter.

Read books for the tasks listed below. Some (but not all) tasks will have opportunities to collect bonus points.

You may the tasks as many times as you wish.

When you have finished please re-post your whole challenge as a new message or we will not be able to award your Hall of Fame badge!

SCORING: Score 1 point for each book read that fits a task PLUS 2 points for each bonus task.

EXAMPLE:
TASK: Read a book set in USA (Bonus: set in one of the 'Thirteen Colonies')

You read a book set in California = 1 point for USA
Total: 1 point

You read a book set in Delaware (which is one of the 13 colonies) = 1 point for USA + 2 points for Delaware
Total: 3 points

3. Read a book with the letters SUN somewhere in the title. Does not have to be in order. (Bonus: The letters 'SUN' in order in the title, may be Sun, Sunny, Sunshine, etc.)

4. Read a book with a summer word in the title. (Bonus: 'Summer' in the title)

5. Read a book with a cover that reminds you of summer. (Bonus: Sand or beach towel on the cover) - Show us the cover.

6. June 23: National Pink Day - Read a book with a PINK cover OR with a title that begins with letter in PINK.

7. July 1: Canada Day - Read a book by a Canadian author.

8. July 1: Canada Day - Read a book set in Canada. (Bonus: Set in New Brunswick)

9. July 4: Independence Day - Read a book set in the United States. (Bonus: Read a Series #13.)

10. July 7: World Kissing Day - Read a book with a kiss on the cover. Show us the cover.

13. July 24: National Tequila Day - Read a book where a character drinks tequila or a cocktail with tequila in it. (Bonus: A margarita glass on the cover.)

14. August 1: Yorkshire Day – Read a book set in England OR where a character takes a road trip.

15. August 1: Yorkshire Day - Read a book with a character that is/was in the military OR where a celebrates a holiday with traditional music from local bands, some form of raffle or a themed afternoon tea.

16. August 13: Left-Handers Day - Read a book published in August of any year AFTER 1976 OR a book by a left handed author - Mark Twain, Lewis Carroll, James Baldwin, Eudora Welty, and others here.

17. August 26: National Dog Day - Read a book where a character has a dog. (Bonus: A dog is the MC.) Tell us the dog's name.

18. September 2: Labor Day - Read a book where a character has a job.

19. September 8: Grandparents Day – Read a book with a grandparent in the story.

20. September 15: - International Dot Day
Read a book with the letters DOT in the author's first and/or last name (in any order) OR where a character is on a journey of self-discovery and cooperation. (Bonus: The character is a student.)
