Bailey's "Swords Against the Shadowland," worth the read?

Hello everyone, first-time poster here. So I've been reading Fritz Leiber's "Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser Series." I enjoyed the first three books, books 4 & 6, I found to be rather drab and disappointing, while "The Swords of Lankhmar" I admittedly enjoyed. However, I found Leiber's seventh volume in this series, "A Knight and Knave of Swords" to be a complete disaster and only made it halfway before I quit in complete disgust. I'm attempting now to read Robin Wayne Bayley's pastiche "Swords Against the Shadowlands." I admittedly have some trepidation as the last book left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, but from what I can see, in the synopsis, it hearkens back to the style of the first three books. So what do you guys think? Should I give it a shot, or is it not even worth it and am I better off just focusing on the good read I had with the first three books and moving on?

I remember liking it. It's a pretty good read. It's actually a prequel; it'll make sense once you've read it.
