The Man Booker International Shortlist is out and not only are the translators 100% women but women dominate the authors as well.

If there's interest in putting the women-authored books up for a vote for one of our group book reads later this year, instead of our standard member nomination process, or if anyone wants to set up a buddy read, let us know in this thread!

The 2019 shortlist is:

Jokha Alharthi, Arabic - Oman, Celestial Bodies, translator: Marilyn Booth.

Annie Ernaux, (French - France), Les années [The Years], translater: Alison Strayer.

Marion Poschmann, (German - Germany), The Pine Islands, translator: Jen Calleja.

Olga Tokarczuk, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, (Polish - Poland), translator: Antonia Lloyd-Jones.

Alia Trabucco Zerán, (Spanish - Chile), The Remainder, translator: Sophie Hughes.
