May 2019 Anniversary Challenge - Sign ups!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY GUYS!

Now last year, we did this challenge in June because we totally forgot about our anniversary - oops! This year we are hopefully redeeming ourselves because we are doing it in our actual month!



This May marks our fourth year as a group on Goodreads!



Each year, we try to do something special to mark it. Just like last year, we are going to do a page count race. Last time it was mods vs. members but this year we are thinking about doing 3 teams. It will be Alaina vs Andrea vs Felicia.



So, a mod vs mod… vs mod. That means there is no solo option. There’s also no serious, medium, or just for fun either. However, the one thing we do require from you when signing up is that you tell us how many books you think you can read for this month.

Other than that, this will be a fun and relaxing anniversary challenge that will take place from May 1st to May 31st. Winners will be announced on June 1st.

Page Points
1 - 99 pages → 0.5 pts
100 - 149 pages → 1 pt
150 - 249 pages → 2 pts
250 - 349 pages → 3 pts
350 - 449 pages → 4 pts
450 - 549 pages → 5 pts
550+ pages → 6 pts

Buddy Reads will DOUBLE your points.
BOTM will TRIPLE your points.
Oh, and MANGA/GRAPHIC NOVELS will count for ¼ the points!



Well since we are such awesome mods there will be a chance to win BONUS points!

If you read a book that fits the following you will get this amount of points:
- Book that has 4 words in the title (any edition works) → 4 pts
- Book that was published in April (any year) → 4 pts
- Book that has a 4 in the page count → 4 pts
- Book that was published on the 4th day of ANY month → 8 pts
- Book that was published in a year that ends in a 4 ('94, '04, '14) → 8 pts
- Book that is #4 in a series → 8 pts
- Book that has a publication date with all 4's in it (e.g April 4th, 2004) → 12 pts

For example,

- It was published on April 15th, 2014
- Has a page count of 355
- It is #1 in the series

Therefore, you could use these bonus's for it:
- Book that was published in April (any year)
- Book that was published in a year that ends in a 4 ('94, '04, '14)

And this would add up to 12 bonus points for that one book. These are team bonus points - not individual!

I wish.. but sadly no. There is no holiday coming up until next Sunday, which would be Easter. It's spring break this upcoming week and loads of people will be out of the office.. so for my team we will have 1-2 people in the office the entire week.

Plus on Friday, we had a team meeting and I was given all of these projects that I will be in charge of. Plus I have training next week - whether it's internal or not. Then a girl is leaving our department for another so I have to learn what she does because I'm taking over her projects as well. So yeah, very hectic life next week.

Hopefully I will have lots of puppy snuggles and wine to drink. Then there's the whole gym thing to work out my frustrations lol.

I wish I loved big dogs. I want to be an all around dog lover. :(

Part of it might be I'm so short that even labs are pretty big to me. They are still a medium dog but they are like hip level with me.

I love my dobeys though. No one messes with me when I’m out walking them.
