Thanks to Carole P Roman for this fabulous book club and for all her help in getting Indie's recognized. This group has been so supportive, it gives every member the inspiration they need to keep writing, to keep asking for reviews, to keep sending queries to agents, to encourage each other to succeed.

Congrats in Indie Brag. It's a wonderful reflection of your work!!

I can't say enough about Kirkus "A meticulously orchestrated genre mashup with an urgent, heartfelt message." Impressive Dennis and Joni. Very impressive!

As indies we are all in this together!!

Thanks Alex, it helps convince me I'm not wasting my time. When you get an award, and you know you are competing with some great authors, it reinforces that you should be doing this and maybe you have something special.

I'm sure it does. I remain too much of a coward to submit my books to any awards, though.

Thank you. I have faith that my books are above average, thanks to you and others who have offered me kind words of encouragement, plus the reviews I have received which have maintained an average of 4* and above.

It's a fear of rejection/failure/a negative opinion that keeps me from me submitting. I know it's silly, but even the mildest of criticisms, no matter how constructive, could have me on the edge of tears, especially if I'm not prepared for it.

I'm only just recovering from an extended bout of anxiety with an edge of depression, so I don't want to do anything to mess that up. Maybe if I can get myself into therapy later in the year, like I'm hoping, I'll feel up to submitting, so I can add award-winning to my books.

Dennis Meredith (dennismeredith) | 189 comments Readers are always looking for great books, at nine years of age a book is still in its infancy and as good a read as it was when it was first published.

With the encouragement from this group, I am always working to keep up the marketing of all of our books. Carole just reaffirmed that keeping up the promotions is worth our effort.

I hope everyone will share their good news here. It is a reminder that all the work we do to promote our books is worth the time and effort and money spent.

It is little bits of acknowledgement and encouragement, that keep us going.
