Savannah | 4 comments I understand the amount of time, effort, and love an author puts into a manuscript. I am an avid reader with an eye for continuity mistakes. I work hard to make sure that my feedback is thorough and appropriate solutions are provided along with any constructive feedback. My goal is to make sure the storylines, characterizations, plot, scene structure, and dialogue flow. I give feedback throughout individual chapters and give a comprehensive feedback on the manuscript as a whole once finished. I will make note of any overused phrases or words and any light grammatical mistakes.

Though I have mostly worked in the MM genre, I love reading all fiction and am open to reading for any genre with the exception of erotica or nonfiction.

I had completed my first Book - 'An Other Tale of Two Cities - In the Dragon's Lair' about 3 years back. I have been regularly improving the book based on feedback from my friends in the last 2 years. I think it has reached the Beta stage, ready for the last edits before publishing.

I am glad that you are offering your Beta reading to authors. I hope my work meets your interests.

'An Other Tale of Two Cities - In the Dragon's Lair,' is an epic saga - an intense Action-Adventure-Romance - that explores the sporting, cultural and political traditions, and exposes the contrasts and the rivalry between two modern nations and their strong personalities. Bordering on the Literary and told eloquently, the passionate ‘Tale’ offers several heart and mind whelming moments as also thrilling roller-coaster rides between Chennai in India and Shanghai in China.

A short back cover view of the book...

Two talented Table Tennis players, Kula and Jay set out on their journey from a small town near Chennai (previously Madras), India to win Gold at the 'Games' at Shanghai, China, against a formidable Chinese team. Along their journey they discover true and eternal friendship with Li Ling, a member of the Chinese Table Tennis team, who joins their magical voyage, highlighted by triangular love, humour and sacrifice.
They are constantly subverted by a bitter loser, a vengeful, vicious and venemous Deng. Soon, thanks to the adversary and his Godfather, a powerful ruling elite with his own ambition to become President, Kula is accused of stealing Chinese National secrets and as an Indian agent. He and his Chinese girlfriend, Li are on the run to escape the police dragnet and sure gallows for both. They are chased into the Shanghai suburbs by their nemesis and a shoot-out ensues...
Do the trio survive the 'waves of attack' of the persistent Deng?
‘Meet the dragon’, they did!!! But, beat the dragon, did they??? Be there ‘to watch from the front row’ each of their fights for possible Gold at the 'Games' at Shanghai!
Does Lt. Gen. Ping save the Chinese President from impeachment and an attempted coup?
Someone commented earlier, ‘Kula’s love will not get consummated’! Does the prophesy (or curse!) come true?
And who wins Kula eventually? Jay or Li? And how?

It’s a long book. (Almost 126,000+ words). The plot spans across Chennai and Shanghai, back and forth. It can’t be confined to one single genre. In fact, it has several story lines, each touching a different genre, while primarily a Romantic Adventure-Action, and the setting is sports (unsporting?) rivalry with a lot of Political drama (Domestic and International) and diplomacy. May be it is its strength!

I wanted someone expert to review and say if it’s good to publish. Who my readers would be? Who would be interested as a publisher? Also needed help to edit (copy edit? proof reading? I don’t know the difference). Can that someone help me get my book published?

I hope this subject interests you and you could help as a Beta Reader and reviewer. I hope I can get your answers to my questions.

Please let me know and also in which format would you want the book to be forwarded to you. I will send you the latest version of the book for your Beta review.

Thank you,
Best Regards,
Ravi Krish

Mary Elizabeth Hughes Hello Savannah,
Are you interested in Historical Fiction. I have completed IMAGINING VIOLET MARRIED and put it through two or three edits so it is in fairly good shape. It's 86,000 words and in epistolary format. Here's the blurb:
Living with her in-laws, dealing with her first pregnancy, acclimatizing to Canadian customs and weather, Imagining Violet Married is an intimate look at a young English bride's life in Toronto at the turn of the 20th century. While her husband is forging a brilliant career as a concert pianist in a city that is rapidly becoming the musical centre of Canada, Violet's life is full of small domestic challenges. All this makes for a lively correspondence as Violet writes about her life to her close friends and family. This is a sequel to the recently published Imagining Violet.
I'd be happy to send you a pdf.
Kind regards
Mary E. Hughes

Rebecca Partin | 8 comments Hi Savannah,
I could use a beta reader for my YA fantasy novel featuring superheroes. Here’s the blurb:
Amelia Keen never thought about her future. She always saw herself working at her aunt and uncle’s ranch for the rest of her life. But when she stumbles across a magic sword that gives her the power to talk to animals, everything changes. She can pick fights with bullies and win. Her best friend starts to come up with ideas of how to put her in the spotlight and make a new superhero reality star. But the strangest change of all is a mysterious wolf that follows her and tells her that her destiny might now be more than what she bargained for. And when her family is kidnapped by a man with the intent to do her harm, it’s up to Amie to get them back. But something wild stirs within her, something that scares even her. The closer she gets to her foe, the more obvious it becomes that she must make a choice: to fight for her humanity or succumb to the call of the beast.

Let me know if you’re interested and have time to read it.

Tyler learns that he is a crossbreed. The offspring of a Magi and a Human. Blessed with the magical powers of the Magi and the intelligence of a human. Making him the perfect candidate to serve as one of many ambassadors to help bring the Magi back into the world of humans without another war breaking out.

Christopher Keast (christopher_keast) | 18 comments Hi Savannah,

Would you be interested in beta reading my 90K-word sci-fi dystopia novel?

A little about my story:
In the not-so distant future, as the digital world’s freight-train steam rolls right into its inevitable threshold of physical data storage limits, strange things begin to happen. At the same time, Kicis and Anna are each at a philosophical crossroads of sorts. For Kicis, his knowledge of history cannot yet help him decipher what the future holds regarding the limits of humans’ Earthly data aggregation and smartphone obsessions – including his own. For Anna, it’s what to do next with her life after a major career change from law to photography, followed by a provocating breakup with her former lover. The two of them collide into one another under most inauspicious circumstances: the world’s most reveled structural human artifacts begin mysteriously disappearing. As the rest of the world tries to find the meaning and reasons behind it, the two of them become transfixed on this new problem, trying to solve the final riddle plaguing humanity. Despite world leaders outlawing such detective work, someone needs to figure it out, as global worries peak. Has a tipping point been reached within the bounds of Earth’s physical constraints? Or is it simply the beginning of the Datapocalypse?

Please let me know if this is of interest. I'd be most appreciative.

Thanks in advance,

Clack | 7 comments Hi, Savannah, thank you for offering a beta reading service.

The working title of my novel is bit (lower case), a contemporary realistic tale of a young man who is trying and failing to navigate the rapidly changing "new economy" of technology, robots and artificial intelligence. Jack Lack finds himself continually being displaced in the job market by things seen and unseen. He is also trying and mostly failing to navigate his own love life or lack thereof. His work life ends in near tragedy in a way that ironically lends hope to his love life. My interest is in trying to address a serious and growing issue of the effect of technology on job markets while having a few laughs along the way. It clocks in at a relatively short 24k words. I would sincerely appreciate your feedback.

M.C. Winkkle (mcwinkkle_book_author) | 4 comments Hello Savannah,
I hope you’re still taking manuscript, my novel could really use some feedback like the one you’re offering.
It’s a sci-fi novel and it is 95k words long.
Here’s my synopsis:
Time is up.
It’s 2046 and the agreement falls due.
War has started.
With Africa, Asia and South America invaded and no news from Europe or Australia, the United States is the last human bastion and the survival of the human race is on them.
In this context, Stella, a sixteen-year-old girl with a particular physical appearance, is kidnapped by the CIA and discovers she has psych abilities that resemble the aliens’.
She is blackmailed and forced to fight for humans in the war.
However, after training those abilities, she will become way more powerful than any one could have imagined.
Seventeen years in retrospective, in Allentown, a little town in the State of New Jersey, people claim to have seen UFOs and an eighteen-year-old girl goes missing. However, police research isn’t put to practice because her father can’t seem to remember having had a daughter.
A couple months afterward, the CIA detected alterations in the magnetic field that sixteen years later led them to Stella.

Please let me know if you’d be interested!

Aviv Shener (ashener) | 19 comments Hello.
I have a book I'd written, titled "Down the Rabbit Hole". (116K words). It's dark, and there's violence. Also M/M parts.

The synopsis:

Matt Evans made a series of bad decisions that left him broke and in debt to Jeff Holden. When Jeff comes in the middle of the night, demanding back his loan, he brings along an alternative offer.
Matt is to help an ambitious scientist to move ahead with his work, the same work that got him fired years ago. Jeff makes it clear there’s no other option, unless Matt considers ending up six feet under an option. Matt is forced to face madness in ways he never knew existed, while trying to hold on to normality for as long as possible. To make things worse, Jeff hires a local cop, one with a personal grudge, to make sure Matt would keep his part of the bargain, regardless of the cost.
When reality gradually turns into hell, Matt realizes there’s nothing left to lose. He escapes and goes into hiding, believing he’ll be able to start fresh where nobody knows who he is and what he’d been through. Surrounded by people who helps bring stability into his life, Matt is unable to shake the events of his past and the toil they took.
What was supposed to be a chance to start a new life, turns out to be a fatal mistake. The replications spark a chain of events that pushes Matt deeper into chaos, and down the rabbit hole.

Thank you,

Jay Storey (jayallanstorey) | 80 comments Hi, Savannah,

I'm looking for a beta-reader for my 61k YA/Scifi novel Black Heart : Arrival - the stunning sequel to my acclaimed novel, The Black Heart of the Station.

The Station, a city buried deep beneath the surface of a frozen, lifeless earth, is only months away from completing its centuries-long mission to return to its original orbit around the sun.

Seventeen-year-old Trajectory Specialist Trainee Trudy Barnard is studying to join the elite group that control the planet's movement. Though she's a brilliant student, Trudy is haunted by her illustrious pedigree: granddaughter of one of the Station's greatest heroes, and the daughter of its most powerful figure.

Trudy discovers a snippet of code hidden in the trajectory software that would obliterate the Station at the moment of Arrival. When Mission Control are unable duplicate her findings, they accuse her of grandstanding, trying to grab attention.

Ordered to drop the issue, Trudy instead ignites a firestorm that pits her against the Council and her own father when she hacks into the Mission Control system itself, searching for answers. In a desperate race against time, and targeted for death by an unknown enemy, she struggles to unravel the mystery.

But can she unlock the secret in time to save them all?

Hi Savannah,

I’m looking for betas for the first draft of my Sci-Fi/Thriller (94K words).

One of the three protagonists is LGBTQ+, although the novel doesn't really focus on romance.

Below is the synopsis. You can message me or email me at, if interested.

Fifteen years ago, Jehan Fasih designed a drug that could curb the instinct for violence (and rob the taker of their free will). Fifteen minutes ago, someone blew up the metro station to get their hands on his brainchild.

Jehan must make a decision, and time is running out.

Abhijat Shian and his sister Rito lost their jobs, and their family's reputation, over the course of a single week.

The reason? Their father's trusted protégé, Jehan Fasih, betrayed him and embroiled their family in one of the biggest corruption scandals the country has ever known.

The Shian siblings' quest for revenge soon turns into a murky web of confusing motives and divided loyalties. Is Jehan Fasih a genius or a madman? Is their father truly innocent or is there a trail of deceit and betrayal within the hallways of their childhood home?

The Brightest Fell is an epic tale of loyalty, treason, corruption, patriotism, and political intrigue.

When nations are on the brink of war, to be innocent is not enough...

Hope you're still open for manuscripts. If you are then I hope you'll be interested in a 67k teen sci-fi.
"If someone stopped to look at me- tall girl with brown eyes and big curly hair- they’d think I was a normal teenage girl waiting at a bus stop, average even- damn they’d be wrong."
Eliza Jenkins just wants to be normal.
But how can the girl who can stop time be normal? Her biggest fear is someone finding out about her abilities, who knows what could happen?
When a man walks into a store with a gun, she has no choice but to use her powers- putting herself, and her best friend, in danger- and save lives. People are looking for her. And Vanessa Kingsley, from the IAI (the International Alien Investigation), with a fake smile and an even faker British accent, wants her help. She now realises that her life is built on a lie. And now she must decide, her normal life or this secret one that she didn’t know was hers? Her mother was an agent- one of the IAI’s best. If she says yes, she can finally get to know who her mother was.

This is the first book in THE BLUE PLANET series, which will consist of four books.
I have proofread it and edited it, but now I would love it for someone else to share their opinions on it. Please be as brutally honest as you can. I don't mind if you hate the book- just let me know why.
If this interests you then please send an email to!
Thanks for your time!

At seventeen, the world has had taken more from CODY CHANDLER than most people lose in a lifetime. In the affluent circles of high-society horse shows, Cody is more concerned with hiding the broken glass of his past than he is with trying to fit in like most teenagers. While trying to live free from the ghosts who haunt him, he meets CLAIRE NATHAN and finds love that could make him blossom. But his past never lets him forget. Fearing he can’t be honest without destroying his chance for happiness with Claire, he weaves an intricate web of deceit. Can he share his past with the love of his life without revealing an unimaginable childhood secret or will it prove to be his undoing?

I just finished my first romance (59k words). The thing is english is not my first language, so I'd love to have your help to check If I loose something on the process as well if you do comment about the story (It'd be amazing).

Resume of my novel:

Now Peter Stein is famous. The Miami boy finally got prestige that he was so highly acclaimed for acting. It was his great chance to shine, and the 22-year-old had to follow in the footsteps dictated by his manager not to get lost in fame. Living in LA had its perks, but he didn't have the presence of a new neighbor who loved to party until dawn.
Alexa Riley was the youngest daughter of an award-winning Hollywood director. With her paternal absence supplied by money and a troubled past, she eventually moved out of rehab to a mansion in a somewhat old-fashioned neighborhood, driven by the words of pastors Langdon Stein, Peter's father, and Arthur Clifton, the first's father. Peter's love, Tori.
Alexa's rebellion distorts the environment and, especially, Peter's heart, putting everyone around and his own destiny against the union. The drama puts professional choices as well as friendships to the test in a heart-melting hot romance.

Thank so much.

When they arrive the group thrive in their new surroundings and enjoy their work but as time progresses they begin to doubt the value of their work and wonder what their fate, and the fate of their new planet, will be when the people from Earth arrive in large numbers. With that in mind they decide to construct a plan in which they all fake their deaths and prove to the people on Earth that the planet in uninhabitable.
The plan works initially, but instead of simply continuing as they had before and repeating the mistakes committed on Earth, the inhabitants of the new planet choose to start again, without the corrupting influence of money, religion, politics and social classes. Life is good but eventually disaster strikes when the people of Earth, who have finally discovered the deception, appear on the planet and take back control under the rule of the evil President Chalmers.
