Started yesterday, I'm through the first four chapters.

I think I'm up to chapter 8 / 42% through. I'm really enjoying this story, maybe even more than the first time I read it.

(view spoiler)[I'm so glad Temeraire and Laurence were finally reunited. It was awful for Temeraire thinking Laurence had died. And then when Laurence was looking for him but the dragons had already left the breeding grounds, I was worried they wouldn't find each other! And that Temeraire would do something stupid.
I love the way Temeraire has made himself commander of all the other dragons. XD (hide spoiler)]

Same! I finished yesterday and one thing I adored about this book was the development (view spoiler)[of the dragons' role in the war. (hide spoiler)]

(full book spoilers) (view spoiler)[Instead of being just breathing aeroplanes, they became leaders and strategists, and it seemed to be working pretty well when everyone behaved (looking at you Iskierka! God she annoys me!) I especially loved Perscitia and her role in the narrative as a non-fighting dragon.

Also I am super excited about the setting of the next book (AUSTRALIA!) buuuuut looking at the reviews makes me think that I shouldn't get my hopes up D: (hide spoiler)]

I loved that too, (view spoiler)[the dragons starting to get recognition as the clever, thinking beings they are!!
I find Iskierka very annoying too. I wanted it to be endearing, but sometimes it is just annoying haha. (hide spoiler)]

RE the next book - (view spoiler)[I want you to be excited and open minded! But yeah, generally it wasn't received very well. I liked it, but it felt like the weakest book overall. (hide spoiler)]

Yes! (End of part one) (view spoiler)[ I loved their reunion, I was so excited as Laurence landed and went through the camp to meet the commander! So excited, I was nearly jumping up and down 😂 And then the moment Temeraire realized Laurence is still alive, so cute!

I also agree on Temeraires POV, great to see his perspective now as well. Him commanding the other dragons was great too, it really suits him. (hide spoiler)]

I finished as well, I really liked the book, I'm not sure which one I like more, this one or book 4, but I think I like the last one a tiny bit better :)

Also well said Kathrine, I felt the same and don't have much to add... (view spoiler)[ The last quarter made me sad, seing Laurence that unhappy and Temeraire so very helpless, he couldn't really understand what was going on but wanted to help so badly and Laurence was so cold :( Luckily all went well :)
