Romance Review Group 8 (reviewing)

In joining this review group you have agreed to review the books assigned to you on a two month schedule. This group is now in the review phase and is no longer open for sign up.


This is Romance Review Group 8. (No erotica without consent of the other participants, please.) As with other review groups, you will be expected to read and give an honest review of the works assigned to you. Assignments will be made after the group sign-up has filled.

Participants are expected to post reviews to Goodreads. Due to changes in how Amazon enforces its policies, it may not be possible to post reviews on Amazon. We encourage participants to post reviews on Amazon, if and where possible. Authors are welcome to request that reviewers post reviews to other venues, as well. Reviewers are welcome to offer to post reviews to other venues, if the subject book is available there.

Contact the authors you are scheduled to review to arrange to receive a review copy of their work or, if the reviewer prefers to give the author a sale, purchase it.

Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews. Authors may respond to reviews, but any form of harassment or anger directed at reviewers will be treated as a violation of the terms of service for this group.

If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator.

If your book has not been reviewed by the deadline for either round, contact the review group moderator. This is necessary to make certain that the review process is fair for everyone.

Note that any participant who makes no effort to fulfill his or her commitment to this group will have all reviews of his or her work resulting from this group deleted and his or her membership in the Genre Specific Review Group will be terminated.

If we're giving warnings, mine is reverse harem, so there's lots of sex and menage scenes

The last time I reviewed on a group on Goodreads we sent each other electronic copies. It looks like what I'm seeing here is that we're to buy one another's books to be able to do a verified review on Amazon. Is this right? I have no problem at all with this and actually thought of doing this. I just want to be sure so I can get started.

No one is required to purchase a review copy for this group. Authors are expected to make review copies available for free. If a reviewer wishes to purchase a copy so that the review is marked as from a verified purchase, this is fine, too.

I saw this post and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t have worked. Then I guessed you’d probably messaged my Lolli Powell account and found it there. Apparently “Lolli” isn’t even a member of this group. :-)

Anyway, I bought your book right after the assignments were made, but I’ve been finishing up a couple of books from other review groups. I’ll be starting on yours today.
