MargieD2017 | 259 comments I love the language of the men/women during the time of the American Revolution and it has been preserved and heightened by this master of the English language in the writing of the 'Founding Brothers'. This is my first reading of a book by this author and I am taken by his style and insightful, careful reconstruction of the events. This book presents portrayals of 7 of the influential men of the Revolution: Hamilton, Burr, Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, Adams and Madison. Each man flawed in their own way yet none more impacting to their times. I will read other books by Ellis as time permits. What a wonderful and erudite author.
