Sarah (sd1234) | 34 comments ISBN 0375802711 was published in 2002 but shows cover art by Stephen Gilpin (pink background with 3 kids looking at a newspaper).

Per artist's website, Gilpin created this art in 2014. https://sparkgilpin.myportfolio.com/p...

It is not possible for a 2002 edition to have cover art that had not been created yet.

Initially. It may well have been reprinted with the same ISBN and a different cover, as this is unfortunately quite common.

Olivia (livka) | 7927 comments I reverted the cover to the 2007 file (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...) and added alternate cover edition with the revised cover (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...)

If this is the case, Goodreads needs to allow people to create a different versions of books attached to the same ISBN, which it doesn't currently. Otherwise, it is guaranteed to contain inaccurate information.

Thus Alternate Cover Editions, like the one added in this case.

Can anyone add those or do you have to be a GR Librarian?

With cases like this one, that involve edits to existing records, only a librarian can do them. And using the Alternate Cover link/tool requires either librarian status or being the author of the book. But in cases where the edition being added is one with the older cover, so no need to move the ISBN/ASIN, just create a new edition and note that it shares the ISBN/ASIN, any user can create those. (Just as they can create another edition of the work with an ISBN/ASIN not yet in the database.) Just click the Add a New Edition link under any existing edition of a work, and go from there.
