3 Stars

I've been meaning to read Brave New World for many years, but I read 1984 a few years back and decided that was enough of classic dystopian fiction for a while. Now that I've finished Brave New World, I think I'm good on that genre again for the near future.

I see the parallels to modern life, and I appreciate the universal and timeless struggle to find balance between liberty and security. I know it's an important book with a valuable message. But I really disliked the reading of it. So disturbing, sad, and anxiety-inducing. I'm glad I read it, and glad I'm done with it.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 5526 comments I read this about four years ago (listened to the audio). I gave it 4 stars.

Definitely hear you about being "done with the genre for now."
