kittykat AKA Jo Tortitude | 2401 comments And https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=Ha...+ please.

Also, this is yet another one where there is blurb bloat. The beginning is

Harriet Evans is the Sunday Times bestselling author of A Place for Us and The Butterfly Summer is her must-share new novel about Keepsake, a house in Cornwall that comes with a family legacy every bit as full of danger as it is of wonder. Fans of Kate Morton and Jojo Moyes will love this book.

'The Butterfly Summer is an amazing achievement; heart-stopping and wonderful. It's an epic, sweeping, romantic story told brilliantly... I could practically feel the butterflies brushing against my cheeks as I read' Sophie Kinsella

'[A] delightfully engrossing tale. . . Romance, danger and an intriguing legacy - an ideal holiday read' The Lady

The Butterfly Summer is packed with unexpected plot twists that will make you gasp out loud and move you to tears - you'll be desperate to add it to your shelf alongside the best of Santa Montefiore, Jojo Moyes and Kate Morton.

and the ending is

READERS LOVE HARRIET EVANS.

Praise for The Butterfly Summer:

'Loved it' Gill Hornby

'A delightfully engrossing read' Sarra Manning, Red magazine

'Moving, gripping, heartbreaking' Kate Williams

'Great characters, gorge house, intriguing mystery, what's not to love?!' Lucy Diamond

'Multi-layered, heartbreaking and as beautiful as a butterfly wing' Veronica Henry

'A crumbling house in Cornwall and a family with lots of secrets are brought to life by the evocative writing in Harriet Evans' novel The Butterfly Summer' Good Housekeeping

'Gorgeous' Cathy Rentzenbrink, Stylist

'Harriet Evans' writing is just perfect' Linda's Book Bag

And the Kindle edition as part of the title has ": The gorgeous summer read set in Cornwall - it will make you cry!"

None of which is blurb about the book and needs to be deleted.

kittykat AKA Jo Tortitude | 2401 comments And this one https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=Af...+

Also, the Kindle edition has too many spaces between the paragraphs in the blurb (which is different from the hardcover blurb?) leading to wasted space and unnecessary scrolling.

* 1 and 2 are still o/s.

Thx

kittykat AKA Jo Tortitude | 2401 comments And yet another duplicate here https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=Th...

Also, the audiobook edition (duplicate) has no cover, is titled wrong (The Ancient Nine, the Ancient Nine: A Novel a Novel) and the blurb is one very large block of text with no paragraphs.

And there is the "Chapter One " edition. There is one review for what appears to be the entire book and another 5 star 'review' where the reader says "Can't wait for it's release in September." which leads me to believe that it has not been read.

kittykat AKA Jo Tortitude | 2401 comments Another duplicate here https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=Sy...

And here https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=La... and I'd love to know why there are 4 non-related Italian language books under the same search terms I used which is 'Lagos Noir'! Also the audio edition narrators are noted as '(Reading)' rather than (Narrator).

And another one here https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=Lu..., this also requires a series link with book 1 https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4... and book 1 has a load of bloat (an excerpt) in the blurb that should be deleted

"“Austin,” she began. Their bodies locked together, his hands on her waist. She looked around; they were on the tallest building for miles, surrounded by nothing but glowing city lights in the darkness. She mustered her courage, took a step back, and reached behind to unzip her dress.
“Yes,” he breathed, his hands reaching to pull her close.
“I’m aching for you. I need you, now.” He answered her pleas, quickly, pulling her body against his and covering her mouth with his. Her mind became a foggy mess of need and want; she could hardly concentrate on anything except the feeling of him against her. She was a ball of electric nerves; every place he touched her drove her crazy. Lexi wasn’t like this; she was never confident in her body or her sexuality. Austin had awoken something in her, a sultry vixen that had been trapped deep inside her for far too long."

... And any idea why A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare comes up in the search results for "Lucy Hudson - Dance for You"???

message 25: by Renske (new)

Renske | 10997 comments 24 Duplicate merged

About the search results, with such works with a lot of different secondary people involved it could happen there is a similarity with a search request. Like the edition shown has a contributor named Hudson, if there is also a Lucy involved with an other edition you get this kind of results.

kittykat AKA Jo Tortitude | 2401 comments Thanks, Renske :)

I still don't see anything in common other than the surname Hudson, but we all know the search function is somewhat broken... Also, the series link is still o/s.

Arenda | 20816 comments kittykat wrote: "And any idea why A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare comes up in the search results for "Lucy Hudson - Dance for You"???"

This book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3..., containing the word 'dance' in the title was incorrectly combined with "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

Search now still shows the Shakespeare book, but I hope that it updates within a couple of days (although you never know with GR search).

kittykat AKA Jo Tortitude | 2401 comments Arenda that makes a bit more sense, thanks for the explanation.

Series link for 24 is still o/s, as is the combine/merge for 27.

kittykat AKA Jo Tortitude | 2401 comments This series https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=Ra...+ has book 2 (Within the Shadows of Mortals) duplicated and book 3 (Inheritance of Ashes) triplicated. Please do the necessary.

Also, this edition https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4... has a photographer noted in the author field and unnecessary info in the blurb which should be deleted

Demon's Savior is Inkitt.com July Novel Contest Winner

Cover Photo Courtesy of Nathan Dumlao on Unsplash.

And this edition https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4... as you can see has additional spacing in the blurb which leads to unnecessary scrolling and should be corrected.
