Empress X (ladywhospeaksinpoetry) There’s a general chat, songs chat, poetry chat, but still no bookish chat! Well, now there is. 😉

Leona Petrovic (uknownothingjonsnowohohohoh) | 176 comments Yay. The best topic....

message 3: by Empress X (new)

Empress X (ladywhospeaksinpoetry) Yea lol.

Okay, I feel like this is an equal topic, but everyone, paperbacks or hardbacks? I like both but hardbacks a little more.

♥ Jasmine ♥ (princessjas04) To me hardcovers because they take better care of the books :)

message 5: by Empress X (new)

Empress X (ladywhospeaksinpoetry) Yea, also true. :)

message 6: by Leona (new)

Leona Petrovic (uknownothingjonsnowohohohoh) | 176 comments I like the way hardcovers look but sometimes sotcovers are easier to read. I hate softcovers that have really bendable spines, but if they are good quality I don't mind them.

message 7: by Empress X (new)

Empress X (ladywhospeaksinpoetry) True, I hate ones that get like, wrinkled easily. They just look too used.

message 8: by Emilie (new)

Emilie I like the paper back that are floppy!

Leona Petrovic (uknownothingjonsnowohohohoh) | 176 comments I looove floppy paperbacks!!

Emilie Those are the beeeeessst

message 12: by Leona (new)

Leona Petrovic (uknownothingjonsnowohohohoh) | 176 comments Paperbacks are much easier to transport than hardcovers haha, so when I'm traveling I prefer those

message 13: by Emilie (new)

Emilie I use a NOOK when I'm traveling. So I can have infinite books with me lol

message 14: by Leona (new)

Leona Petrovic (uknownothingjonsnowohohohoh) | 176 comments I don't have one so. Overall, I prefer physical books over e-books, but if I find free books online I'll read them

message 15: by Emilie (new)

Emilie Yeah I like the physical ones, but if I'm traveling Ii'd rather not carry 5 books with me lol

What's everyone's favorite author(s)?

message 16: by ♥ Jasmine ♥ (new)

♥ Jasmine ♥ (princessjas04) Mine is Angie Thomas, Sara Shepard, JK Rowling, and Becky Albertalli

message 17: by Leona (new)

Leona Petrovic (uknownothingjonsnowohohohoh) | 176 comments Leigh Bardugo, Maggie Stiefvater, Elizabeth E. Wein, J. K. Rowling, Stephen King, Rick Riordan, Katherine Arden, Patrick Rothfuss & Naomi Novik.

message 18: by Empress X (new)

Empress X (ladywhospeaksinpoetry) Marissa Meyer, Natasha Ngan, Laini Taylor. Love them all. ♥️

TheRavenpuffWhovian (strawberryprince) | 220 comments I like Rick Riordan. With most other authors I've only read a couple of books by them.

message 20: by Leona (new)

Leona Petrovic (uknownothingjonsnowohohohoh) | 176 comments I also like Cassandra Clare.

message 21: by Emilie (new)

Emilie I haven't actually read any of Rick Riordan's books. Are they any good?

TheRavenpuffWhovian (strawberryprince) | 220 comments YES THEY ARE

message 23: by Leona (new)

Leona Petrovic (uknownothingjonsnowohohohoh) | 176 comments Oh yeah, they are quite amusing. The writing is not as good in his OG series, and I disagree with a couple things in the Magnus Chase trilogy, but overall, I love his series, especially Heroes of Olympus

TheRavenpuffWhovian (strawberryprince) | 220 comments I actually like Percy Jackson better than Harry Potter in some ways

message 25: by Emilie (new)

Emilie Oh wow! That's a high honor XD

message 26: by Leona (new)

Leona Petrovic (uknownothingjonsnowohohohoh) | 176 comments I like Harry Potter better, just bc writing and quality overall is better, but PJO is easier to read.

message 28: by Empress X (new)

Ayamesalami | 97 comments Paperback or Hardcover?
Paperback cause it's easier to hold, plus it's easier to read if it's floppy +1 point for floppiness

Favorite Authors?
Sharon Creech, Svetlana Chmakova, Faith Erin Hicks, and Agatha Christie.

Can you read in public? (like, people talking in the background, music, people passing by, etc.)

message 31: by Ayamesalami (new)

Ayamesalami | 97 comments For me, I can read in public. As long as I'm not able to actually hear the people talking-- like I can't hear their actual words. I try to mix all of the noises together and just focus on reading.

message 32: by Emilie (new)

Emilie If someone starts yelling, I can't focus on anything. But if people are talking in a normal tone of voice, I can focus on just about anything.
