Howdy Joe! I'm really looking forward to reading THE WAITING. I've heard a lot of great things about your work.
Welcome Joe.You've been on my to-read list for a while, so I'm gonna take this opportunity and join my very first group read here on HA!
Hello Joe, and welcome :) I have read [and enjoyed!] several stories you have written and I already own a copy of The Waiting so I will be joining you, as soon as I finish the book I am currently reading.
Joe is an excellent writer. I've been meaning to read this one, so it looks like this is as good a time as any.
Hi everyone! Thanks so much for having me this month! Big thanks to Ken for the invite to the group. Really hope you all enjoy The Waiting!

Hi! I will buy an ebook copy of this intriguing novel as soon as I find my debit card and remember how to log into Amazon.
Welcome, Joe!I purchased The Waiting a while ago, so now seems as good a time as any to get started.
Ken wrote: "Joe. Love the cover. Who did the design and how much influence did you have in it's creation?"Thanks Ken! The very talented Kealan Patrick Burke designed the cover as he has with all my self-published work. A lot of influence- basically I told Kealan the main elements of the story and generally what I was thinking and I believe this was the very first design he came back with . I was blown away!
David wrote: "Hey, Joe, do you think you'll get your place back in the Burnley team? ...Only kidding. ;)"Haha! If you only knew how many times I've been confused with him online...

that's great! i'm starting the audio book tomorrow.
JoeI just got my copy today. Will be starting it tomorrow. New to the group so I am assuming we read and discuss?
I’m really enjoying the story. I have no idea where it’s going but that’s ok. (view spoiler) Evan is such a great Papa. Eric is such a fantastic job reading this story.

I finished today. Bravo for that ending!! (view spoiler) I’m giving this 4 stars 🌟 because I was entertained without having a clue of what was going to happen next. The story was good and the characters likable. Great job Joe! I’m off to check out your other books.

Well, I'm about 40% in and enjoying events so far. While it's not as creepy as I anticipated, I have to say I'm loving the relationship between Evan and Shaun. Beautifully written!Actually, there is excellent characterization throughout the story, and this is a real plus point for me.
I have a few suspicions as to where events may be heading, but I'll hold my thoughts for now. Nice going, Joe.

Thanks David, glad you're enjoying it so far. Those characters are near and dear to my heart.
Hello Joe. I'm late joining the read, but I'm making a start now so will try to catch up. Nice to have your input!
I have just finished this and all credit to you, Joe. Tension, suspense, scares - The Waiting had it all and some brilliant, inventive twists. A thoroughly engrossing read.
Hello, Joe!I was tweeting about your book on Twitter earlier today- thanks for noticing that! I love the writing style you use in this novel, and the characters are ones that I actually CARE for a great deal, which is key to a story such as this one.
I am now over 50% finished and very happy to have had the chance to discover your book via this reading group! Thanks for this. --Jen from Quebec :0)

Hi Jen, thank you for mentioning it on Twitter! Very pleased you're connecting with the characters, they're some of my favorites I've ever written. Hope you enjoy the rest of the read!
It's definitely a slow burn as far as the action goes, although this is not a criticism! As others have commented the relationship between Evan and Shaun is very touching, and this is due to how well it is written.

You are definitely on my authors to "buy and read without reading the description" list. As a writer, I was fascinated how you seamlessly moved your characters through scenes. With the island setting and wheelchair situation, it never became an issue. I don't know if readers who aren't writers realize how difficult that is to pull off.
Dammit, Joe! I was intending on finishing this over the weekend, but having just been privy to (view spoiler) I'm going to have to push on and finish today. ;)

Joe, I agree with everything Glen said. The transitions are seamless, and this makes for very easy reading.
Incidentally, as you are such a prolific writer, perhaps you could provide some insight into your routine. What is a typical daily schedule for Joe Hart?
