Hard same, Gabi. I couldn't put it down but I was almost angry-hate-reading it by the end.

There was a lot of descriptive atmosphere but not a lot going on, definitely. I found it a bit odd that there was so much focus on certain things, but not on others. So why did we get endless descriptions about rain and lighthouses, but I couldn't, for the life of me, tell you one sister from another apart from Annaleigh and her older sister, whose name I have actually forgotten already, so maybe not her after all? I'm reading this at the moment. Currently on chapter 18. It's been quite a slow start, but I liked the spooky, atmosphere setting.

ch 20 (view spoiler)[ I'm irritated with the dad. I get that he's concerned for his wife and her pregnancy, but it does seem like he's dismissing Annaleigh and her sisters. Even though I feel a little bad for the tough pregnancy, I still suspect the step mom, with how she thinks her son would inherit everything over his older daughters. I like Fisher and it's sad that he likes Annaleigh but she prefers Cassius. I wonder about him too, he might be up to something. (hide spoiler)]

He gets drunk, embarrasses his daughters, threatens his wife, then says he'll give a daughter as a prize to a man who can solve the mystery of their ruined shoes? Wow. ch 35 (view spoiler)[ Okay, so a half goddess is killing the girls through their dreams because someone called a trickster for a deal. Annaleigh thinks it's an uncle or something, but I think it's the stepmother. She wanted a son and for him to inherit the title and for that to happen, the girls have to die. I'm sad Fisher has been dead and that crazy goddess was inhabiting his body. The whole story is sort of confusing (hide spoiler)]

I’m not sure what to think of Morella, it’s like she has two sides and which one is the real her is unclear. Well aside from the mom of course who Morella admits to killing. As if the family didn’t suffer enough she brought them even more death Andy basically made the curse a reality. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Oooh, spooky :D I love it so far, a very easy and fast read. Annaleigh is very likeable. I’m not sure what to thinking Mellora, yet. She hasn’t done anything obviously terrible, but her announcement at Eulalie‘s wake really was in poor taste! She should have some respect for the mourning family members. She didn’t seem upset herself, which makes her seem quite self-involved. Not necessarily evil, though. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[This is such a great story, I’m really enjoying it! So many people I don’t really trust. I don’t know about Fisher and obviously I’m super suspicious about Cassius. Then her father at the banquet, losing his temper like that - what was that about?! Camille is not very likable either, at the moment. Mellora has sort of grown on me by now, though. Then there is Verity and the ghosts. And Edgar being murdered!
Poor Rosalie and Ligeia are dead, too! Why not Lenore, though? She must have been there. I have no idea what’s going on, yet. (hide spoiler)]

To be honest, I'm not even sure it all added up in the end, but I didn't mind - the twists were just too good, I just went with it and had fun.
