This is the 2019 version of Kayla's original post. (Much of the original wording has been kept, but the tasks are slightly different)

Duration: January 1st 2019 - December 31st 2019

Guidelines: My TBR is a mess! I don't know how many books I've added to it by now. That's why this challenge is meant to limit/narrow it down. You can complete as many of these tasks as you want and come up with your own, these are just ideas!

Task One: Read a book that has been on your TBR since the first month you joined Goodreads (or the earliest you added books)
Task Two: Read a book that you were recommended
Task Three: Read a book by an author you love
Task Four: Read a book that was released when you were 7 years old (If you turned 7 in 2005: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan)
Task Five: Read a book from the Popular Hyped Books list
Task Six: Read a book in a genre you usually don't read/like
Task Seven: Finish a series you started at least a year ago
Task Eight: Read a standalone
Task Nine: Read a book that was released before you were born
Task Ten: Read a book with a beautiful cover
Task Eleven: Read a book you never finished
Task Twelve (extra/free): Read any book in your TBR pile

Comment below if you want to join the challenge and how many/which tasks you think you want to complete (you can always adjust it). After you finish the task you can always comment your review but it's not required.

You can count the books you already read this year if you want! Or you can start fresh. Whatever you want!

Maddi (maddi_walton7) *

I read fairly quickly, but I end up just getting stressed over my TBR since there's so many on there.

Here's my list. I changed a few, and I may have to add more since I plan on reading more than twelve books this year, but we'll see.

Progress: 12/12

-Task One: Read a book that has been on your TBR since the first month you joined Goodreads (or the earliest you added books)
After Ever Happy by Anna Todd. I had been wanting to read this for the longest time, and I finally did it. It was amazing to say the very least.

-Task Two: Read a book that you were recommended.
The Chaos of Standing Still by Jessica Brody. I saw this on a BookTube channel, though I don't remember who it was, and thought I'd give it a go! This book was amazing! I didn't expect to love it as much as I do. I highly recommend it.

-Task Three: Read a book by an author you love
I read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I didn't know if I liked this author of not, but as I read I discovered that I loved the way she wrote.

-Task Four: Read a book that was released between the time you started middle school to the time you graduated high school that you haven't already read.
Adultolescence was released in September of 2017, and I personally was super excited to read it but I was kinda let down. Several of them weren't even poetry, and a lot of them mentioned that she needed filler pages because she was running out of time. I love Gabbie Hanna, but I had way higher expectations.

-Task Five: Read a popular book you haven't read yet.
I hadn't read Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, and I had always wanted to. I just didn't know what the hype was about, but then I read it. It is my favorite standalone I've ever read, I highly recommend it!

-Task Six: Read a book in a genre you usually don't read/like
I don't usually read poetry, but I read this in one day and I truly love it. I can't wait to read more like it! Pillow Thoughts by Courtney Peppernell

-Task Seven: Reread a series
Since the After series is being made into a movie (comes out April 12th in the U.S.), I decided to purchase the movie tie-in edition and read that since it includes a bonus chapter at the end. I'm just going to finish reading the series again.

-Task Eight: Read a standalone
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. I don't really have any thoughts about this book. I just think the ending was a little premature and confusing and disappointing.

-Task Nine: Read the most recent book you've added to your TBR
They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera. This is the saddest book I've ever read. That being said, it was amazing! The title definitely caught my eye and it was just as interesting as the title was the whole way through. I really recommend it!

-Task Ten: Read a book with a beautiful cover
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur I saw a lot of hype around this book, but I never got around to actually reading it. The cover is absolutely beautiful, even though it's very simple. I liked about half of the poetry, but I could see why there was hype around it. Just not my cup of tea I guess.

-Task Eleven: Read a book you never finished
Delirium by Lauren Oliver. I started reading this in high school, and I believe I read all the way through except the last few chapters. I'm currently listening to it on audio book, and it's still incredible the second time around.

-Task Twelve: Read any book in your TBR list
I read Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid for this one. HIGHLY recommend!

Yeah, otherwise it can get cluttered. Just editing your original post is fine. Just make sure your tally is up to date.

As usual, it took me a few months to update this lol (procrastinator really is an earned title haha)

Congrats, Cendaquenta!! And Roksy, you're so close!!

And of course Selina is over here with her fantastic formatting skills haha

Laura number 2 (so many Lauras in this group lol!), if you don't want to read those other tasks, that's totally okay! You can choose which tasks you read, or even change the tasks as needed. Here's what it says in the rules:
You can complete as many of these tasks as you want and come up with your own, these are just ideas!

Comment ... how many/which tasks you think you want to complete (you can always adjust it)

So no worries! It's absolutely fine if you only want to do 10 books. It's not a fail whatsoever.
