I don’t remember when I exactly read this, 2007-2010 range. I was 11-14 years old. The cover was covered in green leaves. It gives off a secret garden/magical vibe. There was a boy who somehow ended up at this abandoned house with sprawling green leafy gardens, kind of jungle-esque. He was alone at the house besides some sort of creature that kept him company. If I remember correctly, the animal died. I also remember something about a large pool or pond and the boy had the feeling he was being watched. That’s everything I can remember
