Was there an edition published in July of this year, as originally scheduled?

Dan | 94 comments As far as I can tell this book hasn't been published yet which is why I skipped over this request when I first saw it.

If I understand rightly book covers must fit with their ISBN or ASIN.

Now while I have no doubt this is the author and this is the cover that will be used it is not currently up on amazon. We can see this cover from the author website. I know we can use covers from the authors website but do you need to be able to verify which ISBN or ASIN it goes with?

Dan | 94 comments Right but that's not what is happening here. This isn't a reprint using the same ISBN nor is it an ARC etc.

This is adding a book that isn't available yet, my question I guess is do we handle books being added ahead of time like they are alternate editions even though they are not?

Cari Silverwood (carisilverwood) | 112 comments I’m not sure why there is a problem as this is what I’ve done for the last twenty book covers, approximately. This book will have an ASIN and not an ISBN when released.

It’s what many independent authors do.

I sent the ARC to people on the 17th.

With the cover linked above, or the previous cover? And what about the originally planned July publication date?

message 11: by Cari (new)

Cari Silverwood (carisilverwood) | 112 comments The previous cover, up until I asked for this new one to be added, had “temporary cover” printed on it and was mostly black with the title only.

I did it that way due to seeing another author told, by a librarian in here, that it was best to put temporary cover on a cover to make it clear what it was.

I had hoped to have this book written much earlier, yes.

Cari Silverwood (carisilverwood) | 112 comments Oh and I see what your last question was.

Yes, I sent the ARC out with this final cover on it.
