Lets all get to know each other a bit!

For those who don't know, I'm Brandy- the blogger behind The Legal Duchess and one to the co-creaters and co-hosts of this book club. I am a third-year law student at a small law school in Ohio and I aspire to be a criminal prosecutor. I am 24 years old, I am super short and I live in a little blue house with my husband of two years and our three precious dogs. I love baking and home DIY's, I spend too much time binge-watching Netflix and sleeping in on a Saturday morning is my personal version of heaven. I stay up too late, drink too much caffeine and chocolate is my weakness. I grew up on a horse farm and I have competed nationally showing horses throughout my entire life. I love to travel almost as much as I love being a homebody. I keep my circle small and my dreams big.

I have been a huge reader ever since I was a little girl. I used to get in trouble at school for reading under my desk in math class and my parents once removed the bedside lamp from my room so I would stop staying up so late reading. Books are one of my greatest passions.... they just make me happy. My favorite genre is probably historical fiction and non-fiction. I love learning about the past (and I was a history major in college so I am just generally a nerd). I can't wait to get to know everyone!

I love reading but had gotten out of the habit a few years ago when my good friend and I started a book club here in our area. It lasted for almost 5 years! But recently fizzled out after some friends moved away and it dwindled down until everyone lost interest. :( So I'm really looking forward to this book club! Such a fun idea. :) My favorite genres are sci-fi, historical fiction, mysteries, and good ol' drama. My favorite favorite favorite book ever is The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (all her novels are great!)

Hey guys!! I’m Danielle, the other co-creator and co-host of this group. I am SO excited to have a group of friends where we can talk all things books!

I’m 20 years old, a senior in college majoring in Political Science and minoring in English, and I just got married in October! It was by far the best, most beautiful day of my life and I think about it way too often. 😂 Right now I’m working as a paralegal at a law office, but I have no long term career plans. Suggestions are welcome!

My blog has been so much more fun than I ever expected. I genuinely love blogging/writing/connecting with people.

Im 100% sure that was waaaayyyy too much information, but I’m an open book! Get it? Open book? 😉 please don’t leave the group because of my bad jokes. I’m excited to spend the next year reading good books with all of y’all

Hi everyone!
My name is Emma, I’m 25 and I’m a second year law student in Maryland. I want to be a criminal defense attorney and/or a civil rights attorney. I am passionate about civil rights and criminal justice reform! I currently live in an apartment near school with my boyfriend of 4 years. We unfortunately don’t have any pets, but we love dogs and hope to adopt a few in the near future! I drink entirely way too much coffee, am a bad procrastinator, and I am obsessed with bath and body works candles 😄
I absolutely love to read! I used to have a hard time reading books for school, because I was a slow reader, but my first favorite book I had to read was To Kill a Mockingbird and I realized I loved to read! My reading speed has immensely increased since I started law school. My favorite genre is thriller/mystery, but I also enjoy lighthearted romance books, non-fiction books about the criminal justice system, and biographies. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

I’m Rachel! Im 27! I’m a hospital pharmacist and work night shift at a tiny hospital in Ohio! I have the cutest 2.5 year old beagle/coonhound mix that suffers from severe fear-related anxiety. 😭 but she is my pride and joy! ❤️

I absolutely love reading and hit my goal this year of 30 books! Sometimes, on night shift, I get extra time to read some books!

Hi everyone, I'm Nicole! I'm 25 years old. I live in Ohio and am a graduate student studying Early Childhood Education. My undergrad is in communications. I live with my boyfriend and goldendoodle puppy! When I'm not doing school work, I love to shop & read. I've always loved reading but as I've gotten older it's been the perfect escape from reality :)

Hi! I'm Maia. I'm 23, I live in Colorado, and I am a 2L in law school. I probably want to be a prosecutor (sorry!) or some kind of civil attorney. I was an English and Music double major at my college in Minnesota. That's usually all I say when people ask where I'm from because I've lived all over the place, and I don't even give my parents' location as home anymore because they moved to Ohio the same summer that I moved to Colorado. I only have my gorgeous lynx-point siamese, Reina, living with me, but when I no longer live in an apartment I will also have dogs and fish! I also visit my parents' dogs once a year or so.

I'm a gamer and working on becoming a runner - my first 5k is in a couple weeks. If anyone else likes gaming, I just played Firewatch and it was amazing! I also love to read and write (no surprise, since I was an English major) and I always wanted to become an author. Since I started law school, it's been really challenging to find time to read. Most days I get home and I've already been reading so much for school that I just want to turn my brain off and watch Netflix. I'm hoping being in a book club like this will help me with reading for fun!

Hey everyone! I am 24 years old,, a 3L in law school (1 semester left!) and am in South Carolina. I want to be a family law attorney. I live in an apartment with my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years and our 2 year old puppy we adopted in February! He is a boxer pointer mix named Kalix and he loves to cuddle and learn new tricks. He knows so many we are running out of what to teach him.

I recently started a blog (Bliss, Blend & Banter) because law school is crazy and most of my time goes to school, sleep, and Netflix. I want to change my habits by reading for fun and working out. I also love to shop and bake. (I'm slowly learning to cook new meals.) My favorite books are romance and mystery. I always love a good book that gets you hooked in the beginning. I love learning about history (I know an obnoxious amount of French history...French major problems) and traveling the world. My goal is to visit all 7 continents and 50 states.

I can't wait to get to know everyone more and to read some new books recommended by others!

Hi everyone! My name is Francesca, I'm 25 years old and live in Miami, Fl. I am currently a Copywriter and applying to law school!

Like most of you, I'm a huge animal lover. I have 3 dogs that I adore! I feel at this point my future should include a farm, considering all the animals I see myself having in the future!

My biggest passions in life are travel, food, and wine. I've had a love for reading since I was very small, thanks to my mom. It started with her reading to me when I was very little, and my love for books grew as I got older; this is partly where I get my vast vocabulary and love for writing from! I haven't been reading as much as I'd like lately, so I figured joining a book club would be super fun!

My name is Sarah, I am 36 years old, and I live in Boston, MA. I am currently not working but I am in the process of getting my Master’s in Elementary Education. I tried the whole law school thing, completing one year but life changes and I realized law school wasn’t filling my cup.

My husband and I are in the process of IVF (which is one reason for the career change) so fingers crossed we are blessed in the new year! We have a 3 year old yorkie who is the love of our life. My passions include cooking, reading (duh!), my family, and learning how to live a more holistic lifestyle.

I look forward to “talking” with all of you and reading books outside of my typical genres.

Hi everyone! My name is Ebony and I'm a 21 year old from a small town in Pennsylvania. I just finished my first semester of law school but I'm still not entirely sure what type of law I want to practice, I'm leaning toward civil rights or family law. I started a small blog (@regallegal16 on instagram, twitter and bloglovin) to share my experience at law school since I am in fact the youngest student at my law school.
I love doing yoga and try to hop on the mat every chance I get. I also love baking which I do often especially if I'm stressed out.
I have loved reading since I was a little girl and try to read every chance I get. I love thriller books like Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train (which are both great movies as well). I also love mystery, romance and non-fiction. I am currently reading My Own Words by RBG whom I adore.

My name is Candice I'm technically a 1.5L (I was a 2L but moved and transferred schools and none of my writing or legal research classes came with me) and on break until this fall when I'll be at it again. I live in Sacramento, CA. I'm working right now for a small insurance brokerage that's kind of like working in The Office and I dig it very much so. My insta is ginsburns and it's just about the only social media I do but I'm a cheerleader so if you want constant support hit me up!

I've aaaalways wanted to do a book club, but reading is one of the first things I push to the side and I don't know how that started! I'm so ready for that to change :)

I am not sure what type of law i want to work in yet but i think Family, i work for one of the top 25 lawyers in Birmingham which can be a blessing and curse in itself lol. My boyfriend and i of 4 years live in an apartment with our 8 year old daughter.

I use to love to read as a child, my grandmother & i use to read together on her pouch for hours and then have our conversations. As i got older i guess life happened and i stopped reading so much. First, thank you to Brandy and Danielle for starting this book club. I am so excited to get back to reading for fun when I have spare time.

I recently finished my first semester of law school, so free time is not particularly abundant but I am going to make time for this book club!

I'm 22 and live in Miami, Fl with my husband (who is studying to be a pilot). We have two amazing dogs (a cavapoo and a morkie) and I love all three of my boys dearly.

I've always loved reading, especially thrillers and mystery novels. I am excited to find some new favorites and to get to know all of you.

Hello everyone!

First, thank you to Brandy and Danielle for starting the book club! It’s a brilliant idea!

I’m Rachel! I’m a second-year law student in Indiana (but I’m originally from Ohio and miss it so much)! I hope to become a prosecutor or other public service lawyer. I’m 24, married to my high school sweetheart, and I have two rescue doggos.

When I’m not beating my brain with law books, I run Lawyerella.com, play video games, and watch a looooot of Netflix. I love coffee, all things peppermint, and planners.

I’ve always been an avid reader. I loved books so much that when I was grounded as a child it meant having my books taken away. Since starting law school I’ve read 2 books for fun and one was law related. I love classics and fantasy, but I will read almost anything. Some favorites are Anna Karenina, Catcher in the Rye, and Harry Potter. My goal is to eventually read Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings.

Ashlii here. I have had some issues posting thus far, so I apologize for the late introduction.

I am a 30 year old, first year law student in Louisiana.

I've always been a big reader, but have fallen out of habit being back in school; so I'm excited to make reading for pleasure a priority again, and I'm super excited about this club!

I'm a hardcore Harry Potter fan, and love anything Dan Brown (guilty). But love bios, non-fiction, thrillers, and the classics... you name it.
