I'm two for three! I LOVE Transmetropolitan (Anything Warren Ellis gets an immediate recommend from me) and Spiderman 2099 was my gateway drug into marvel comics. I have to get reading Battle Angel before the movie comes out.

A few others are:

Tokyo Ghost: Complete Edition - equal parts cyberpunk, 80's action film, and social satire.

Lazarus, Vol. 1: Family - A hard Sci-Fi dystopian take on a near future world decimated by war, monopolistic corporations, and class warfare.

Descender, Vol. 1: Tin Stars - An Amblin movie in comic form. Charming, heart breaking, and beautifully rendered in a water colored style.

Marvel 1602 - A throwback to break things up a bit. A creative reinterpretation of the Marvel mythos through the lens of a mid-Century world.
