Madhuri | 3 comments I set myself the challenge of reading 12 books in 2018 but have only finished 8 so far! Setting the same challenge for 2019.

The authors I have heard so much about and will meet (via their books!) in 2019:
Haruki Murakami
Poornachandra Tejaswi
Stephen King

Books I had started but couldn’t finish (coz library due dates!):
Hitchhiker’s guide to galaxy by Douglas Adams
Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
Edge of Eternity by Ken Follet (Century series #3)
Wuthering heights by Emily Bronte

Books on my to-read list:
A thousand splendid suns by Khaled Hosseini
The sun also rises by Ernest Hemingway
Midnight’s children by Salman Rushdie
The God of small things by Arundhati Roy
Yaana by SL Bhyrappa

So those are my 12 books. I need to find the first book to read for the 3 authors, can’t wait to explore their worlds. 😁

Adriana | 3888 comments Misery is supposed to be like the best Stephen King. There's a new one that just came out that is a novella called Elevation that I want to read next year.

Ilona | 3986 comments I have only read one Murakami so far, Kafka on the Shore, but I really like it! And we have 1Q84 planned as a buddy read from April to June, which you are welcome to join if you would like to. :)

Good luck your goal Madhuri, I hope that this group will help you to reach it!

Regina Lemoine | 482 comments For starting with Murakami, I recommend Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World or After Dark. Good luck with your challenges!
