We've decided to switch things up a bit with our challenges this year. In addition to our Mount TBR Challenge (https://www.goodreads.com/challenges/...), we're announcing our A-Z Challenge!

Sign up here: https://www.goodreads.com/challenges/...

For this one, read 1 book that starts with each letter of the alphabet: one for A, one for B and so on. For the letters Q, X, Y and Z, a book title that contains the letter will qualify.

You do NOT have to read them in order of the alphabet. They do NOT have to be horror books. You can make a post in this thread and track your reads here. To officially enter the challenge, go to the top of our home page, click on Challenges on the right side, and then scroll until you see 2019 A-Z Challenge, and then: name your shelf!

Nancy (paper_addict) | 705 comments This is tempting! I have been doing an A-Z Challenge in another group for 4 years now. Last year I also tracked the duplicated letters. I only had nine letters that didn’t make it as a duplicate. So it might be doable to do two A-Z challenges.

Let me look at this year’s challenge and see how many letters I didn’t have duplicates.

Decisions, decisions...

Nancy (paper_addict) | 705 comments I’m in! I can totally do two A-Z challenges. It’s just a little more work. I am assuming if the title starts with “The” or “A” we can omit that and go with the next word? For example The Book of M could be used for either T or B.

Here is my list to keep track during the year:

26/26

A - American Vampire, Vol. 1
B - Bone White
C - The Cabin at the End of the World
D - Dune
E - Emergency Skin
F - Fangland
G - Glow: Book I, Potency
H - Horrorstör
I - I'll Bring You the Birds from Out of the Sky
J - Just Add Salt>
K - Keto Clarity: Your Definitive Guide to the Benefits of a Low-Carb, High-Fat Diet
L - The Last Romantics
M - Monument 14
N - Night Crawlers
O - The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss
P - Permafrost
Q - Unintended ConseQuences
R - Rosemary's Baby
S - The Salt Fix: Why the Experts Got It All Wrong--And How Eating More Might Save Your Life
T - The Test
U - UnSouled
V - Vigilance
W - The Wandering Earth
X - Antihypoxiant
Y - Wastelands 3: The New Apocalypse
Z - The Zombie Who Cried Human

So I have a question about the whole "sign up" thread.
It says to name a shelf, and only books on that shelf will count.
How exactly does that work? I've never added shelves to my basic account, and just have the standard All/Read/Reading/Want to Read shelves.
How do you tag a book for additional shelves? And does tagging books move them to a separate list, or just add them to all lists with which they are tagged?
