Sylvia (sawinters) | 3 comments I'm having some issues with my account not following GR policy, because I've changed my author name. All my exisiting titles have been updated through my publisher to go under the new name.

So, the following titles need to be relisted under the name S. A. Winters
The Lightning Moon (pub link https://lessthanthreepress.com/books/...) - Versions also in French and Spanish
The Ticking Heart (pub link: https://lessthanthreepress.com/books/...)
Keeping it Together (pub link: https://lessthanthreepress.com/books/...)
Bat's Children (https://lessthanthreepress.com/books/...)

and then deleted from this account. If all my user details could also be transferred across that would be great too.

OR, if this account could be changed to S. A. Winters officially and then all other titles than the ones listed could be removed, that would be even better, as I'd love to be able to keep my shelves and challenges etc.

Any help would be much appreciated as I am tearing my hair out a bit over this situation, particularly as I've just had a new release and no one will be able to review it as it's listed under Sylvia A. Winters on GR but published under S. A. Winters!!

Olivia (livka) | 7927 comments Hi Sylvia,

firstly, please note that Goodreads does not delete out of print books or editions, so all outdated editions will stay listed with the new ones.

Secondly, Goodreds policy for the books published under multiple pen names is as follows:
- all editions will have the name the book was originally published under 'Sylvia A. Winters' as a primary author
- alternative pen names will be listed as secondary authors on the editions with this pen name

Thirdly, Goodreads allows for the authors o use longer version of their name (e.g. lengthening a first initial to a full first name)

Keeping all above in mind you have following options:

1) Keep the profile name 'Sylvia A. Winters'.
As it fully includes 'S.A. Winters' all editions can be listed with more complete name and on one claimed profile.

2) We can add the pen name 'S.A. Winters' to the new editions with this name on the cover. You will be than able to either:
a) be moved to this new profile, but please keep in mind that if you will not have access to the primary author account you will lose the option of editing editions and setting primary editions
b) claim the second 'S.A. Winters' author profile with the different email address than the one used for 'Sylvia A. Winters'

Please let us know how you wish to proceed or if you have any additional questions.

Olivia (livka) | 7927 comments Meantime I added alternate cover editions.
The Lightning Moon
La luna del relámpago
Éclair de Lune

The Ticking Heart

Bat's Children

As the author, you have the ability to change which edition of the book is the default that will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile. Please see: Setting default edition

Thanks for doing that. I think I like the last option the best.
As regards Keeping it Together, that's never been published under 'Sylvia' and the only version has been published under S. A. Winters (with a space between S. and A.)

Olivia (livka) | 7927 comments Sylvia,
Goodreads policy does not allow for spacing between the initials, so your profile name has to be S.A. Winters

I now added this pen name to the new editions.
Here is a new profile:

As mentioned you will need to use a different email address if you wish to claim a second author profile.
Here's a direct link to the claim form:
