Luca Fossum (luca_fossum) | 5 comments Hi all, I hope you’re doing well!

I’m a UK-based proofreader specialising in working with authors, both traditionals and independents. Having recently completed the rigorous PTC Basic Proofreading course (grade for final assignment pending, but I am on track to finish with an overall high ‘merit’ grade), I'm now looking to expand my client base and build up my real-world experience.

As such, I am currently offering to proofread your first 5,000 words for FREE. There is no minimum spend, but if you do send a longer work, anything over 5,000 words is charged at 0.35p per word (£3.50 per 1000 words). You can also get the free read done first and return later to get the rest of your project proofread. No strings! (Although if you are happy with the service, I’d very much appreciate a testimonial and/or a LinkedIn endorsement, but you’re not obliged to provide one.)

I also offer a beta reading/manuscript critique service. Though full beta reads are carried out and charged separately, I can – if you wish – provide some brief feedback along with the proofread. My academic background is in Creative Writing (BA) and Publishing (MA), so I have plenty of experience in giving useful feedback!

I usually work in Word, using track changes and comments, but can also work on PDF if that suits you better. Though based in the UK, I am happy to work with other varieties of English as well. If you have any questions about how I work or what my proofreading service entails, don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Luca Fossum (luca_fossum) | 5 comments Hi Herm! This offer has now expired, but the quoting process includes a free sample of roughly 1,000 words, which should give you an idea of how I work.

You can read more about the process here:
