Michelle | 97 comments Ok!! Here we go. 2019 is going to be a year of purging. Although I love the challenges that broaden my horizons and encourage me to read something I wouldn't have otherwise, my physical bookshelves are overflowing and I need to get them under control. The challenges that I will be participating in this year are aimed towards achieving that goal. In addition, I will continue with the Bookopoly game that is so much fun! Happy reading all!

Michelle | 97 comments Happy New Year to everyone and time for my annual book nerd Year In Review!

In 2019, audiobooks changed my life (thanks Sonya Heffernan!). These days, I have 3 books going at all times - a physical copy that I carry everywhere, a book on CD for commutes, and a digital on my phone that I listen to while I'm at work whenever possible. Therefore, my reading consumption has tripled (and I don't have to hear the same Taylor Swift song on the radio 16 times per day, thanks again Sonya!) So without further ado.......my 2019 reading stats (because I'm a nerd and I love data!):

Total books "read" (in some fashion) - 150
Total pages "read" - 51,019 pages!
Total challenges completed - 4 out of 6
Total states represented in books - 32, with the most books set in New York (15), California (12), and Massachusetts (5)
Total Countries represented in books - 22, with the most books set in England (12), Sweden (4), and Japan/Russia/Spain tied with 2

And, although I'm terrible at picking favorites, my top 3 books of the year are probably: We Are Water (Wally Lamb), Whistling Past the Graveyard (Susan Crandall), and The Kitchen House (Kathleen Grissom) and the series that grabbed me and sucked me in was Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy.

Onward to 2020!!
