Hi all! Starting up the monthly discussions for February 2019 book-of-the-month suggestions. This discussion is for the CLASSICS CATEGORY.

Books that qualify for this category:

1. Must have a publication date 1969 or before. For newer books, please make your suggestion on the Modern Classic/Popular Reads thread.

2. Have not been previously ready by this group. Previously read books can be nominated in the Bookshelf Catchup thread. See the group's Bookshelf for previously read books.

3. Be reasonably well-read to fit the "Everyone Has Read This but Me" claim.

Not a hard and fast rule, but please try to limit your nominations to one book per category. But please do second any that interest you! The number of seconds determine poll inclusion.

>>> Attention, please: new reduced period for nominations this month: just 2 weeks!

Nominations end Midnight December 15.

This is an excellent start, all great suggestions!

To keep supporting books from non-English language literatures, I will second these:

- The Master and Margarita, Russian
- Zorba the Greek, Greek
- South American Jungle Tales, Uruguayan

But the link Mariana provided for "South American Jungle Tales" is for an edition which doesn't have a good description of the work. So, have a look at these other two editions, with much better ones
