Amanda (mmeblue) | 13 comments I attempted this challenge in 2018, but not sure (as of early December) if I'll make it to the top. Either way, though, I'm setting the same goal for next year, to read 24 books from my TBR list!

1. The Histories by Herodotus
2. The Rape of the Lock by Alexander Pope
3. The Victory According To Mark: An Exposition Of The Second Gospel by Mark Horne
4. The Mortification of Sin by John Owen
5. A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen
6. The Prayer of the Lord by R.C. Sproul
7. Spiritual Depression: Its Causes and Cure by Martyn Lloyd-Jones
8. The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
9. The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
10. Math with Bad Drawings by Ben Orlin
11. Martin Luther's Basic Theological Writings by Martin Luther (edited by Timothy F. Lull)
12. Prayer by John Bunyan
13. The Virgin Birth of Christ by J. Gresham Machen
14. The Time Machine by H. G. Wells
15. The Heroic Boldness of Martin Luther by Steven J. Lawson
16. I Kings: The Wisdom and the Folly by Dale Ralph Davis
17. The Greeks by H. D. F. Kitto
18. The Awakening by Kate Chopin
19. The Dark Tower and Other Stories by C. S. Lewis
20. Learn from the Masters edited by Frank Swetz
21. The Christian View of Man by J. Gresham Machen
22. The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells
23. Utopia by Thomas More
24. Major Barbara by George Bernard Shaw

Welcome back! Good luck for 2019--and here's hoping you still make 24 in 2018!

Amanda (mmeblue) | 13 comments I'm itching to put a completed book on the list in the first post, but my first book of the year is a lengthy one! I'm on page 451 now (of 543), so getting close...

Amanda (mmeblue) | 13 comments Woohoo! Finished reading Herodotus. On to something much shorter next, lol!

Also - a day or so ago, I added into Goodreads a bunch of ebook titles that I did in fact own prior to the start of this year, but I'd never gotten around to entering them here. So now I have a true idea of the size of my TBR pile! I might be doing this challenge for quite a few years...

Thanks! (Sorry for the delay; I somehow missed that someone had replied.)

Been reading some kid lit via the library recently (pre-reads for my kids), but I also finished the book I've been using for personal devotions, Mark Horne's The Victory According To Mark: An Exposition Of The Second Gospel. So that's another one off the TBR pile!

Amanda (mmeblue) | 13 comments Two more finished, bringing me up to five so far. I seem to be climbing rather quickly right now!

Amanda (mmeblue) | 13 comments Up to 10 so far! Not sure what's coming next. :)

ETA: Okay, next up is Martin Luther's Basic Theological Writings. I am actually *almost* halfway through this one (on page 375 of 755), so it just barely qualifies for this challenge! It's been quite a while since I read that first almost-half. Anyway, it will feel good to move this one off the TBR pile!

Amanda (mmeblue) | 13 comments 13 done at this point! Next up is H. G. Wells's The Time Machine.

Amanda (mmeblue) | 13 comments My list is at 20 now! I'll confess to a bit of skimming on that most recent one (Learn from the Masters) because the content wasn't as interesting to me in the second half of the book, but still, it's removed from the TBR pile, so it counts.

Just four more to reach the top of Mount Blanc!
