The furstfour paragraffs trans'd into the Ewok. Something ewokatively purrfect hear.

Joshua | 54 comments This is pretty funny! And illustrates something to me about the Wake and it's immersion in Western and world culture. I some times marvel (see below) at how folks in antiquity have such a thorough grasp of certain aspects of the culture (for an easy example, say, figures and narratives within Greco-Roman myth or the Bible). Then I wonder how naturally all of those names and stories might occur to me if I hadn't been completely steeped in our culture's replacements for such things (Star Wars characters, Marvel super heroes, Looney Tunes, and animated Disney characters). Someone who knows Star Wars reads Finnegans Ewok and finds breadcrumbs throughout - a Trekkie purest reads it and doesn't presumably. So I wonder if the more we learn about the languages, and the history and the culture that shaped Joyce, the more the Wake starts to read more like Finnegans Ewok?
