Diana Ragsdale This topic is for sharing uncommon prayers, favorite prayers, and/or daily prayer routines. :)

I love to say novenas. Right now I'm saying a novena to the 13 Blessed Souls in hopes of gaining employment by one of my manuscripts getting published. Here's the prayer:

Novena to the 13 Blessed Souls
(Jesus & His 12 Apostles)

Please Note: The first line of the Novena appears two times because it is supposed to be read twice.

Oh my 13 Blessed souls so wise and understanding, I ask you for
the Love of God that my request be answered.

Oh my 13 Blessed souls so wise and understanding, I ask you for
the Love of God that my request be answered. Of you I ask for the sake of the blood that Jesus shed that my request be answered.

My Lord Jesus Christ that your protection wrap me with your arms. Guard me with your eyes. O God of kindness you have been my defender in life and death. I ask
that you free me from the difficulties that torment me.

My 13 blessed souls so wise and understanding having received the grace I seek from you (state your request) I will be devoted to you.

Say 13 Our Father's and 13 Hail Mary's for 13 consecutive days.
Publish this prayer, share it with a friend and give a Mass of Thanksgiving.

Aw I love this novena! I went through a phase where I just used to pray novenas every night. When one was up I started another!
But this year I decided to do the St. Bridget of Sweden prayers, do you know them?
You say the prayers (there are 15) every day for a year and you gain 21 promises from Our Lord. http://mostsacredheart.com/prayers/st...
They're not too hard to say everyday, it's just working them into my routine that's the problem. I try saying them in the afternoon but I can't concentrate then. Then I try saying them at night but I haven't set myself a bedtime so I then go to bed at midnight. I'm a mess at the moment!

Kelly Rose | 60 comments Those prayers are beautiful! I'll have to try them out.

I kept meaning to post on here.
One of my favorite prayers is The Prayer of Saint Francis, I don't pray it as often as I used to, but I need to lol.

My go to prayer is the same one Padre Pio prayed every day, the Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart. Whether I'm asking for a specific grace or praying a hardcore novena, it's a lovely prayer.

When I'm feeling really tired or distracted I just offer myself to God and ask Him to rule over every part of the day, accepting His will in all things.

This is reminding me that I need to devote more time for prayer!

Diana Ragsdale @LydiaMae Yeah, my favorite prayer book is... my novena book. ;) No, I haven't heard of it. It sounds very beautiful. <3

@Kelly Rose I love the St. Francis prayer! I usually say it after communion. That sounds like a wonderful novena. I need to pray to Padre Pio more often. I keep seeing his prayer card every where and I keep feeling like he wants me to ask for his intercession.

As for right now, my prayer routine is:

Morning:

- Consecration to Mary w/ 3 Hail Mary's
- Prayer to Joseph for the Spirit of Work
- St. Patrick's Christ With Me Prayer

Afternoon:

- Rosary
-Prayer for the protection of unborn babies
- A few moments of silence

Night:

- Consecration to Mary w/ 3 Hail Mary's
- Prayers for family & anyone that's asked for prayers
- Novena

I think it's important to incorporate prayer throughout the day. As Padre Pio said, "Prayer is the oxygen of the soul." <3

@Kelly ah those prayers are beautiful!

@Diana I should really spread my prayers out over the day like that!
I've been starting a routine this week. I get up at 6:00am, then at 6:30 I say my St. Bridget prayers and after, I watch the sunrise whilst having some quiet meditation. Then I do the consecration to Our Lady and a decade for priests.
At night (now that you've given me the idea I'll try and do some afternoon meditation or some prayers) I say the rosary and again try and focus on meditating over the day. (I want to began meditating over the bible too)
