Marta (gezemice) | 784 comments Oh you have some great books there! The Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Nemisin is amazing. All three books - they just get better! Circe was also one of my favorites this year. And The Gene is fantastic... and The Martian, too. And those are just ones that caught my eye!

message 7: by Anna (new)

Anna | 982 comments Thanks, Marta. The Broken Earth series was planned for 2018, for the "Earth" prompt, but got bumped. So I'm looking forward to reading it in 2019. I haven't read anything by Jemisin, but heard lots of good things, and not only about this series.

Anna | 982 comments January

I went on a JD Robb binge in January, so 11 out of the 12 books I read were written by her. It was quite easy to fit them into prompts. I made a spreadsheet of the categories versus my reads and checked which book fit into which prompt(s). As the JD Robb novels are police procedurals, all set in New York, the criminal/monster/crime/location/more than one on your TBR prompts were all easily filled. The others were more specific to the theme of the novel.

The odd one out was The Plague of Doves by Louise Erdrich which was a book club choice.

Marina H | 1315 comments Great start on this year's challenge!
I've been looking at the In Death series for so long, but I think it kind of scares me with the number of books in one series. I mean, if I ended up liking the series think of the number of books I would have to add to my TBR, which I feel is long enough as it is :-)

message 13: by Anna (new)

Anna | 982 comments Thanks, Marina. You only have to add the next couple of books in the series to your TBR... Or is that cheating? :)
