Reaction to Nightfall

I have loved L. J. Smith books for years and I had given up hope that I would ever get to read another one of her books years ago. Then I heard about this book coming out and was so excited because I absolutely loved The Vampires Diaries series. I read Nightfall and was a little confused because of some of the changes, not only in writing style, but with the characters. I'm not really sure if I can say that I was disappointed because I fully intend to read the next book in the series. I was wondering how everyone else felt?

I thought it was interesting. I don't like Shinichi or Misao though. I wish Shinichi hadn't erased Damon's memory.
