Maria (mariapapadima) Love this challenge Michelle!
Tempted to try it too (though I don't live in the US but love US literature)
Does it have to be fiction books set in these states or any books?

It does NOT have to be fiction. The challenge is open to fiction/non-fiction.

Maria (mariapapadima) Cool! I'm tempted to attempt it, but not in a 1-year space, but rather over a 2-year period in order for it not to take over. Great idea!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! So far, loving every book I pick up. The local Bookmans (a used/trade store for books) has a fun event called "date with a book" where they wrap books in paper and you pick a random book based on a small blip about what type of person the book would like to date. It is great and I've found some gems there.

And of course... I'm trying to read all of the "popular" books while maintaining "academic" books at the same time. :)
