Susan | 38 comments I’m planning to tackle all the borrowed books I keep finding so I can return them to my patient friends. Mr Rum Doodle seems like a good fit. I’ve started a stack of these —
Yesterday’s Weather
Classic Welsh Short Stories
Island Practice
The Plot Against America
As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust
Black Eyed Susans
The Company of Sherlock Holmes
Jane Steele
Finders Keepers

And there are a couple more books —short stories, histories, and mysteries

Susan | 38 comments January Progress: On the one hand, I read ZERO books borrowed from friends when I was aiming at one per month. On the other hand, I read four borrowed library/online books:
1) Never Caught: The Washingtons’ Relentless Pursuit of Their Runaway Slave, Ona Judge by Érica Armstrong Dunbar (library)
2) The Deserter: Murder at Gettsburg by Jane Langton (library)
3) New Hampshire, Robert Frost (Serial Reader)
4) The Body in the Transcript, Jeanne M. Dams (library)

Susan | 38 comments February Progress: This month I went a little overboard on the library books and will be toddling up to the next mountain. OTOH, I still need to read some books borrowed from friends as I was planning to do...

5) Silent Nights: Christmas Mysteries, ed. Martin Edwards
6) Gone Away, Hazel Holt
7) Continental Crimes, ed. Martin Edwards
8) The War That Saved My Life, Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
9) Flight to Arras, Antoine de Saint-Exupery
10) Desert Heat, J. A. Jance
11) West with the Night, Beryl Markham
12) The War I Finally Won, Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

A great month’s reading all from the wonderful local library, and off to the next peak!

Susan | 38 comments Later: I was tickled to find The Ascent of Rum Doodle by W. E. Bowman included on the list of 1,000 Books to Read Before You Die by James Mustich. I haven’t read it, but I’ve climbed it ;)
