The book is about a teen who gets adopted by this lady who is in a cult and lives near a broken down nuclear plant and later in the book this reporter comes in and is looking into the reactor and why it was shut down and then the teen meets him and talks to him and then the lady that adopted him takes him to the reactor to kill him but he has powers that protect him and the reporter found out that the reactor was never shut down and when he gets there he grabs the kid and they both jump down into the river that is there to keep the reactor cool
