Kristin MB | 2068 comments AN AUTHOR'S WORKS CHALLENGE - 2019
Duration: January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019

Do you have authors you like but haven't had the chance to explore their writing to the extent you would like? Here's your chance! For this challenge, pick an author (or two or three) that you really enjoy reading. Look them up on Goodreads, and pick at least 5 unique works they have written (if an author has written less than 5 works, make sure to pick at least 2 authors so that your total is at least 5). You do NOT need to count short stories or books your author has merely contributed to, introduced, edited or translated but you can if you would like to.

For example, let's say you pick Roxane Gay. She has at least 6 unique works on Goodreads, but you only need to read 5 books to complete this challenge. So you could pick:

1. Ayiti
2. Bad Feminist
3. An Untamed State
4. Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body
5. Black Panther: World of Wakanda

What authors will you choose?
Happy Reading!

Kristin MB | 2068 comments How to Participate

1. Post here telling the Challenge Leader that you'd like to join the challenge. You can choose your books for the challenge at the beginning, or add them as you go. You can join a challenge at any time, as long as the challenge is still active. You must choose a goal for the challenge.

2. Whenever you finish a book for the challenge, post here and let the challenge leader know so they can update your progress.
---Please be sure to post the number of books you have completed every time you post an update. The Challenge Leader is not able to keep track for you because of the number of participants in the challenge.

3. Some members choose to update their original post with their progress to keep track of their challenge more easily, but make sure to also post a new message so the Challenge Leader knows to go look at your original post. You can look at how other members report their progress to find a strategy that works well for you.

Example:
message 32 updated! 2/25 books read!

For more information about how challenges work, check out this thread or ask your challenge leader.

PS. Please do not delete posts! It makes updating very confusing for the Moderators! If you decide to leave the challenge, please just let us know. You can edit your original post to say {redacted}. Thank you!

Kelly | 178 comments I am going to pledge 10 books....likely 3 authors. I have some authors I love but have never worked through their whole works. I will exclude series from this challenge as I am already doing the series challenge. As of now I am thinking Lisa Genova, Terry Fallis, Lucy Maud Montgomery, Madeleine L'Engle or Ann Patchett as possibilities. I will update my selections as I choose them
