Anthony Fox | 3 comments Hi, my name is Anthony Fox and I've been an author for some time. Still trying to reach that audience, but I'm still honing my skills as a writer. I'm working on my 6th book, which is my 4th novel. I've been writing a crime novel, which keeps me sane in these insane times.

Good luck,
Anthony Fox

James Davis | 1 comments Hi. I'm James Lloyd Davis. I've been writing for decades, but had only published short fiction in literary magazines. Now that I'm "retired" I've been writing novels, but found it's infinitely more difficult to publish novels or to even get the attention of publishers or agents. Realizing that I don't have the time it takes to break through the gatekeeper class, I collected some of my best short stories and just published an anthology through KDP Amazon. It was a learning experience, but I loved it. Next step? Do the same for the several novels I've written in the past few years.

Simon Walter | 1 comments Hi all. My name is Simon Walter and I just published my first book under the Amazon KDP platform.

My book is called: Gen - Z Kickstart Your Future

The book is aimed at young people who have perhaps had their education interrupted or exams cancelled due to the pandemic, but it is also aimed at young people who are trying to make their way in the world. I have two teenagers who were due to sit final GCSE and A Level exams in summer of 2020 and I witnessed first hand the roller coaster of emotions they went through. I saw first hand how it effected mental health and left them with a feeling of being forgotten and incredibly nervous to move on to the next stage of life.

So, I wrote a book!

I shall leave it there or before we know where we are I will have typed the whole book here and it wont be worth reading the actual book! (I do tend to go on, annoys Mrs W immensely!)

Marc Dickerson (marcdickerson) | 1 comments Hi everyone,

Excited to meet and discuss the trials of independent book publishing with other authors.

My first novel, ART FARM, was released this past March. Here is some further info if you'd like to check it out: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

It is a dark comedy, with hints of horror/thriller aspects, but not what many would consider "genre" fiction. This has made it a bit hard to market and to find circles in which to promote it. So along with my intro, I am curious if any of you have run into the same situation or if you might have any tips or insight regarding this. I have tried posting on social media and getting my book into some local bookstores, but now am at a bit of a loss about how to get my novel out there into the world.

Thanks in advance, and looking forward to chatting with you!

Best,

Marc

Heather Stanton (hmstanton) | 1 comments Hi everyone I am an aspiring author I have tried writing over the years but this year I have started really working at becoming an author. It is a lifelong goal. I have written eight short stories three children's books all rough drafts three books in a series all rough drafts and working on the fourth. The first in the series is being professionally edited right now I hope to publish that one later this year. It has been exciting and confusing all at once. There is so much to do that I more often than not just start writing something else.

M.J. Apple (mjapple) | 1 comments Happy Holidays!

I finally took the plunge to publish one of my stories, after nearly 30 years of writing privately. The Real Me Because of You was officially released last month.

As a teacher I can’t afford to do ARCs and buying for promotions… but I made a promise to my daughter and one of my students that I’ll make a real effort to promote my book if they both promise not to stress out about college acceptance.

Here is my “official bio’:

MJ Apple is a pen name. The writer and her husband have two teenage children and two puppies and raised them in various part of the US, most recently in the South. She currently teaches high school math and officiates swim meets. She advocates her children and students to embrace their talented passions of performing and visual arts and continuing to grow in their faith.

All about the adventures of a fierce pack of homeless dogs that start a town in a mysterious, merciless wilderness. K-9 Town. It's a saga that comes with exciting adventures, that test their unusual strengths -- and weaknesses.

I recently updated and reissued book two of my three book saga, Led By An Eagle. This adventure in rhymes can be found on Amazon.

The Roads Chosen by Ben Carlyle

I know the author. It's a long story.... Several years after I had reviewed his book, I met him. We are now friends. At this time and for the foreseeable future the author is offline and busy transporting household goods within the Black Sea Basin.

My review is at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

There are other reviews, far more insightful than mine.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yevgeny Murenets (yevgeny_murenets) | 1 comments Hi everyone!👋 My name is Yevgeny Murenets, and I’m an aspiring independent author. This summer, I published my debut novel on Amazon — Erik Meys: The Bracelets of Fury. It’s the first dark fantasy book in a planned saga.

The story explores an ancient conflict between the Upper Realm and the Nether Realm — a war whose echoes have reached into our time. The main events unfold in London in the year 2025. At the center of the story is a young archaeologist who, by chance, becomes the bearer of a powerful and sinister artifact — one that demons are desperate to claim.

I’m currently working on the second book in the saga, as well as a psychological thriller about mysterious killings under strange circumstances. That story will also take place in the Universe of Erik Meys.

Tim Karney | 1 comments Hi, I'm Tim Karney and I'm about to publish my first novel, SEX WHISKEY this fall. It's a humorous amateur sleuth mystery set in the Hunt Country of Virginia.
I'm in the process of setting up a website to co-promote amateur sleuth mysteries with other authors to give us all more visibility and drive sales. It's currently on my author website, but I'd like to migrate it to it's own address if I can get a few more authors to collaborate on content. You can see the initial pages at https://www.timkarney.com/amateur-sle...

Danny Gray | 1 comments Hi everyone, I’m Danny.

I’m new to the group and new to publishing in general. I’ve always loved sci-fi, so I decided to try my hand at writing a short story which turned into my first self-published piece, Broken Code. It’s been equal parts exciting and terrifying to finally put something out there.

I’d still call myself very much an amateur, just learning as I go, but I’m enjoying the process and looking forward to picking up tips from others here.

Hi Mimi, welcome aboard!

You’re absolutely in the right place joining now is actually the perfect time. Getting involved before your launch gives you a major advantage because you’ll start understanding how to build visibility and engagement before your book even hits the shelves.

Since your novel is with the proofreader, this is a great window to start laying the groundwork think author branding, audience building, and pre-launch buzz. I’m a book marketing specialist, and I’ve seen how early preparation can turn a debut release into real momentum. Excited to see your journey unfold and happy to share any tips or insights along the way!

Would you like me to help you outline a few early marketing steps while you’re in this stage?
