Top Three Reads in October 2018

October was a bit of a rough month for reading. Lots of good books but most of them had something that irked me from loving the story 100%.

1) The Red Knight by Miles Cameron - a reread but by far my favorite book of the month
2) Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughan - just like the rest of his series this one was excellent
3) The Empire of Ashes by Anthony Ryan - this really could be any of 6 books but this one gets the nod because it finishes a series.

Crimson Campaign - McClellan (loooooved)

All the others (ahem... 2) were meh. Oh yeah, and I did DNF another. Woohoo.

My reread of The Bonehunters was by far the best book I read.

Another Country which isn't a fantasy book was the other stand out.

2. The Rose and the Thorn
3. The Dream Gatherer

1. Theft of Swords (Sullivan) - go team Riyria :-)
2. Dealing with Dragons (Wrede) - my nieces and I laughed our way through this :-)
3. Traitor's Blade (de Castell).
