Jamie | 412 comments I count online time if I also have an audiobook going. But the time traveling to different rooms and such without reading in some way does not count for me. Or if I mix things up to watch a quick youtube video or something the clock stops then too.

Alexandra (xandraj09) | 95 comments I count just time reading and track it using the Bookly app!

I focus on pages. Just in general, as in the more pages the better. This is only my second Readathon and not at all organized the first time. I will figure out what works best as I go along.

message 54: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) I count them both since I usually have an audiobook going when doing other things. However, I do count any participation time. It is all part of the readathon experience.

message 55: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebecca77) | 9 comments I just count the pages read/hours listened. I only use a stop-watch during the 24-in-48 readathon.

message 56: by Elyse (new)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2506 comments I listen to audiobooks while socializing and updating on Goodreads soooo I count it all? Even when I go to the bathroom I'm taking my book with me or my phone for the audio. lol. Someone in another readathon over the summer posted a neat pie chart of reading and listening and it's an app called ATracker and it's so cool! You just start and stop timing with whatever activity you're doing, not just limited to reading, and it creates graphs and charts! This week was my first time finally using it, I used it to keep track of the pre-readathon read for 24 hours during the week and it's so fun!

That app sounds amazing!

Méliane (meliane) | 31 comments Im terrible at tracking time so it doesnt matter since my total time is only an estimation. I prefer to keep track of pages and audiobook time.

message 59: by Jerricka (new)

Jerricka Habib I usually only count reading time. I got the Bookly App so it helps me track time and pages by book. I use audiobooks too.

I wish that app was on android :(

Carrie | 6 comments I only track the time I’m reading or listening to audiobooks. I like this idea though, maybe next time I’ll track my social media time as well!

message 62: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 325 comments I count participation time, whether that's reading, posting, doing mini-challenges, or anything else. Trying to track each minute of reading would make me too stressed.

message 63: by Beth (new)

Beth | 32 comments I am counting the hours spent reading. So far I've read for three hours - had to take a break to make breakfast and brownies for a party later.

I may not get to spend the entire 24 hours reading today due to other commitments, but my focus and devotion today is to reading. It is glorious!

message 64: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (morr_books) | 116 comments With this readathon, where there are sooooo many mini-challenges and hourly questions, I count all social media activities that include activities related to this readathon not just the reading itself.

message 65: by Karsyn (new)

Karsyn (imzadi) Only reading, time like responding is my few times of a break.

message 66: by Lee (new)

Lee McBride | 17 comments In the past I’ve only counted time reading or listening to audiobooks, but I need to start counting time doing bookish things like logging my books, commenting in posts like this one, and reading others comments and suggestions during the readathon. I’ll do better by the next one. I’m finally at a point where I think I can complete most of a readathon.

message 67: by Brandi (new)

Brandi (Brandi Janee's Bookshelf) (brandijaneesbookshelf) | 9 comments I only count the time I'm actually reading because I'm always curios how much I can read in a day.

message 68: by Sue (new)

Sue (stackthosebooks) | 7 comments I only count the reading as well. To me that's the part that should be counted but I also spend plenty of time on social media sharing post and commenting on others as well. It can be rather time consuming.

message 69: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 7 comments This is my first rodeo and I was just doing the bingo challenges. Didn’t even realize we were supposed to time ourselves. 😊 Think I get it though.

message 70: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgotauco) | 38 comments I'm really impressed with those of you who can do stuff online while listening to an audiobook. My brain can't divide itself up like that!

message 71: by Lena (new)

Lena (nlgmcr69) | 235 comments I only count the time I am actually reading.

message 72: by Mathilde (new)

Mathilde M (bedsidereading) | 12 comments I roughly count the time I’m reading, and calculate it in my head, rounding up/down to the nearest 5 min.

message 73: by Leni (new)

Leni Iversen (leniverse) | 572 comments I used to just count the minutes reading, but the social aspect is so important with this particular readathon that I have started counting that too. I have tried to audiobook while I do the social media, but I find that I lose track of what I am listening to when I write and it just doesn't work out that well.
