(view spoiler)[I like this book so far but I'm not sure what's going to change. So far it seems to be a lot of back and forth-- the pirates fight the Bullets, rest, and then do it all over again. I love the fact that there's so many people in the ship's crew and they're all girls! I wish Lace didn't die, but someone had to I guess. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[The large cast is starting to grow on me— even though the reader only gets to really know about a small percent of the girls on the ship. I wish we knew more about some others, but maybe in the later books we will?
I’m glad that Nettle got onto the ship and I understand where Caledonia is coming from when she says they’ll treat her as “less than barnacles” since she’s a stowaway. I hope they trust her… if she’s to be trusted in the first place. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I don't really get why she thinks all of the bullets are bad. One of her former crew members was also part of the bullets and she trusts her. Also, she is going after their brothers who will also be bullets. It sounds like most of the children that are bullets are forced into service by being stolen from their families so it should be pretty easy for them to turn if they don't have the drug in their systems. I'm not so sure how I feel about this new boy on board, he could b honest, or he could deceive them. He has three of those markings, so chances are he's fairly high up in the Bullets hierarchy. Especially because he knew the exact information to hand over and get them to spare him. She is now just wounded, stranded, and has no way of getting back to her crew. Ik that Leer stabbed her at the beginning but I had a theory that he was just under their control and not actually bad and that the two of them would end up together but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Aric is talked a lot about but we haven't seen him or any mentions about his where abounds which is a little weird. (hide spoiler)]

I didn't really have any problems with the book but I didn't like it that much wither, it was just kind of a meh read for me.
