Barbara (willcaxton) | 11 comments Not sure if this is the right place - it looks wrong, I'm a newbie and I'm bewildered by all the different posts. I've not had time to read everything and am in a tail-spin.
However, although I'm not going to have a full 24 hours to read by a long shot as I'm going up to London for an anti-Brexit protest march but I'd like to record my reading plans.

Lamilla | 868 comments Welcome, Barbara! Enjoy your first readathon. I'm sure you'll do well ))

One of the things I enjoy about it is filling starting/mid-/end-surveys. Maybe you'll find the questions interesting too ;-)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2506 comments Welcome! Yes, this is the right place for logging if you don't have a blog! :) You definitely are not forced to read for the full 24 hours, I've never made it. lol. Do what you can and have fun! Do you have a reading list made or are you a mood reader?

Barbara (willcaxton) | 11 comments Do you have a reading list made or are you a mood reader?

A bit of both. I've got a mini-pile of 3 books that I plan to read:

Le Chateau de Hurle - I've read Howl's Moving Castle but happened to spot this French translation in the local library catalogue so I'll enjoy re-reading the story while polishing up my French.
Five Rivers Met on a Wooded Plain, by Barney Norris - on my TBR pile for ages
Buried For Pleasure, by Edmund Crispin - a bookcrossing RABCK I've recently received.
I'll probably listen to an audio-book at some point.

If I still have some time left I'll just sift through the hundreds of TBRs until one feels right. By this time I'll probably be looking for the largest print I can find. ;-}

Barbara (willcaxton) | 11 comments Closing survey
1. Which hour was most daunting for you? – My eyes and my brain gave up just before Hour 20 so I slept 2 ½ hours and read a little bit more when I woke up, though I was mostly busy sorting breakfast.
2. Tell us ALLLLL the books you read! – Heron Carvic: Miss Seeton Draws the Line, a few chapters of Diana Wynne Jones: Le Chateau de Hurle and half of Edmund Crispin: Buried for Pleasure. Total – a mere 334 pages
3. Which books would you recommend to other Read-a-thoners? I like them all but Howl’s Moving Castle is one of my favourite children’s books
4. What’s a great thing we could do during the next Read-a-thon that would make you smile? – Hold it on a day when I’m not doing a thousand other things
5. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? Quite likely, but probably not if it coincides with such a busy day as this year. I'll make sure I've got an audio-book and a large print book next time.

Yes, I know what you mean. I had to be quite bitchy about it and said they shouldn’t be disappointed if I were not to enter on those plans cause I would be unavailable and I had let them know that in advance. The first time was a bit weird and difficult but now everybody does everything in their power to not disturb me for 24 hours! But I don’t have kids so that makes it easier.
